We are located in the Dungog Shire, in the Hunter Region of NSW. This area is renowned for its forests, mountains and picturesque river villages. Horseshoe camp is a perfect location for couples or families to get away for a short or extended stay. The Barrington Tops National Park, State Forests, Chichester Dam, river systems as well as the historic and scenic character of the area provide for a stunning experience. There's plenty of sightseeing and exploring awaiting visitors to this area. The seclusion and privacy of Horseshoe camp allows for total relaxation in a beautiful rural setting providing an escape from the hustle and bustle of work and city life. We are a quiet camp and cater for like minded guests who enjoy nature and their own space. Horseshoe was originally a small dairy farm with a history going back to the 1800's. The land comprises fertile river flats surrounded by the Williams River. The higher land comprises mainly forested areas with some sites offering good views over the countryside. There are several campsites to choose from including some situated on the banks of the Williams River. Your choice and subject to weather conditions. Allowing only three sites to be occupied ensures privacy for our guests, Horseshoe camp is only 10 minutes drive, (7km) from Dungog township. Please note, our river sites may not always be available-subject to flooding or boggy access track. The seclusion and privacy of our property allows for total relaxation in a beautiful setting providing an escape from the hustle and bustle of work and city life. We welcome grey nomads, families and sporting enthusiasts such as bushwalkers, bird watchers, fisher folk and cyclists. Our Hipcamp is a quiet camp, and as such we are unable to accommodate parties or large groups. If you are self contained all the better we do however have a flush toilet and water available if needed. Enjoy the plentiful bird life, and natural surrounds, the stars at night, sounds of the river, all from your grassed, mostly level, campsite. Perhaps a stroll around the property or along the riverbank would be to your liking. There is a dedicated firepit area near the large shed, please only use this firepit for your campfire. You can purchase firewood at the local service station or firewood provider in town. Alternatively wood can be cut on site under direction. Bring your own chain saw. We do ask that you take your rubbish with you on departure. The campsite can accommodate small caravans, camping vehicles such as campervans and camper trailers but not large motorhomes or large caravans. Our river sites may not always be available subject to flooding or boggy access track. Located only minutes away from Dungog township all the amenities provided in this area are within easy reach including Dungog Common and the popular Mountain Bike Trail. Pets on leashes are allowed subject to our approval. Please contact us prior to booking as we have cattle on the property.

Dungog Horseshoe Camp
Beautiful property alongside the river. Our kids enjoyed playing in the river and watching out for all the cows grazing across the property.

Gorgeous property, we loved having a camp fire overlooking the property, watching the cows grazing in the field. The morning walk along the water - so spectacular. No mozzies which was a treat : ) Thank you Michael for being a warm and wonderful host.

Dungog Horseshoe Camp
Michael was a wonderful host who made us feel very welcome. His property is in a lovely lush valley and we had the camp to ourselves for the weekend. The site we had was right on the river with great swimming and there seemed to be lots of fish around also. This has been one of our favorite Hipcamps and we will be back again.

We had such a great time camping here. Directions were very clear & Michael was a terrific host. There are only 3 campsites on the property, all very far away from each other so we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves! Great walking spots with many access points to the river. Toilet was very clean and in good working order - highly recommend this location!
