Lucky’s Ridge is a 120acres property of bush, heavily timbered with straight eucalyptus, situated north NSW, near Tabulam, at the foot of great dividing range. It’s subtropical (summer rain, dry winter usually, no frost). The primitive campgrounds have two compost toilets and two wood fired hot showers. Camp kitchen has a wood stove/oven, kitchen sink and benches (no fridge). All water taps are on rain water. There is a herb/veggies garden guest are welcome to pick from. Please be aware that there is only 12v power available (usb charging station), and Telstra reception is there but just and Optus is patchy. I have friendly dairy goats, sheep, cows, pigs and horses roaming on the property, maintaining the grass short and fertilised (watch for the poop!), and chickens, duck and rabbits, all mostly free range in the Permaculture garden and orchards near the house. I'm into homesteading, and I grow and raise (and butcher) most of my food. I enjoy sharing my land and experience with others, so I’ve recently had a primitive campground approved and open. It was mostly to host seasonal self reliant backpackers coming to pick blueberries at Mountain Blue, so it offers a bit more than just a place to camp, but it stays rather rustic. I’m also keen to host people interested in off grid living and sustainability or whoever wants to come and camp in this quiet, not crowded at all part of the bush. Hipcampers please be aware that from August til December, backpackers may be living at the campgrounds. If you are interested in a garden tour, feeding the animals, milking the goats and/or pony rides, please let me know in advance. We also have some mountain bike trails (jumps, etc) for keen riders (work in progress).Lucky’s Ridge Eco Campground offers quiet campsites in the bush, amongst tall beautiful gumtrees. There is plenty of wildlife on the property and the sites are walking distance from permaculture gardens and farm animals.  Guests will have access to a composting toilet and hot shower during their stay. You might get a visit from our friendly horses and goats at the campsite, or come around to see the funny chickens, rabbits and pigs, and maybe get to milk the goat. Campfires are welcome in the fire pits we have provided and pets can join you too, please ensure they are kept under control at all times. It is the perfect place to switch off from the noise of the world and relax in a peaceful environment.

Great stay for rustic weekend away
Our stay was fantastic and the host is amazing. The camp area was flat, nice fluffy grass and not long, and close to the amenities. It has rained 50mm the night before and it had dried and no pooling water which was amazing to see. The animals were very friendly and even the bull wanted a neck rub. The horse is mischievous and roams for food at night so put your chairs, tables and stuff around so he can’t get to your food. Still very sweet and happy for a cuddle. The kids loved milking the goats and feeding the pigs and playing with the animals, and the host was so patient with the kids making it a great experience. Lucille’s garden and what she has accomplished was anmazing to see and when we are in the area we will definitely stay again. This is a rustic experience but the shower and toilet made it super comfortable. I also loved the wood fired hot water system. So clever.

Nice rustic camp spot with really nice hot showers and clean composting toilets. Camp Kitchen is cute and eclectic. We got to say good morning to some friendly horses. Was a nice spot to rest after our Bikepacking trip hosts are great and friendly.

Awesome rustic camping with amazing hot showers and toilets, heaps of wood for fires and plenty of space so the camp sites are well separated.
