Dalli's Campground - Unpowered
Unpowered camping at its best
My family loved exploring on Steve’s land, creeks, water holes, swings and hammocks. Great for dogs and the community vibe was excellent. Steve supplied the fire pit and grill which we cooked a great meal with. Showers were clean and water hot. Overall very happy with the stay.

We enjoyed our stay. Steve and his team were very welcoming, and made sure we were happy with the pitch they provided. I’d recommend going to the lookout with your dinner to watch the sunset! We’ll be back again for sure

Lots of BlackBerry's.
Great facilities and owners were lovely. Flushing toilets, potable water, hot showers with no noticeable creepy crawlies. Nice flat green campground, with the ground nice and soft and easy for pegs to be put in.
I went on a quite weekend but I can imagine it would be crowded on a busy one.
There is an outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven and I had a fantastic meal. However, the kitchen feels a little crowded with other people using the facilities.
My biggest problem is that when I go camping I want to experience the wonders of the Australian bush. But all the campground looked at was other campers and some of the largest quantity of invasive blackberry bushes I've seen in my life. Instead of experiencing the joy of the bush I became saddened everytime I looked at blackberrys which were everywhere.
Not only were they disappointing to look at, but they made exploring really difficult for me and my children who were constantly getting snagged on them everywhere we went.
There was a generator running an on site cabin during our stay, plus another generator that I think pumps water into a tank for about an hour. Which does take away from the sounds of nature.
There are some on site permanent old looking caravans, trailers, shipping containers, sheds and run down cars that again make me a bit sad when I see them.
Also note that the campsite itself does not have any view of the Capertee Valley but you can walk up a steep hill to get a good view of it.

A wonderfully secluded location! Steve and Donata were excellent hosts, popping down on our first day to make sure everything was all good. Had a long chat with Steve about the campground, and how it came to be.
On our second night we were the only ones in the campground and it was so peaceful and quiet, waking up to the sounds of so so many Bell birds. Spotted wildlife friends included a couple roos, a possum and a goanna. Apparently Wombats are known to come by too, but we didn't see 'em.
Access to the campground was easy. There's a well marked newly graded driveway that would be accessible to pretty much any car, maybe with the exception of something low-ish / sporty. (Our first night there was another couple who came down in a newer Mini without issue)
Steve dropped in as we were packing up and told us about an unmarked 4WD trail that took us up a nearby mountain which provided stunning views of the area. Without his knowledge we would never have seen it, and it provided a wonderful closure to our weekend away.
Thanks Steve and Donata!

Had a wonderful couple of days at Steve’s beautiful campground. We were there midweek so had it to ourselves. The camping area and facilities were spotlessly clean, Steve was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.
