We had fun at Calumet Farm.
The host was polite and welcoming. Even the animals were friendly (horses, sheep, chickens, pigs, and cats) on the farm. This farm is close to town with convenience stores and restaurants. The host's family and even the animals were very dog friendly.

Not great
Loud site with a lot of car traffic, animal noises, and people. We did book last minute but host was not very polite or welcoming.

Pros: The host was nice and communicative. It was nice to see all the animals (the kids loved that - especially all the cats). The ground was level for setting up your tent. It's close to town with convenience stores and restaurants not far up the road if you forgot to bring something. Cons: There's no privacy and no bathroom, which isn't a great combination. You are camping next to the host's house, basically, and it's a working farm so from sunrise you will need to go somewhere else if you need to use the restroom, as people are all around the small camping area.

We are on a two-month road trip around the US and picked this spot primarily because of its proximity to Philadelphia as we wanted to be able to leave our trailer for the day, drive in to check out Independence Hall National Park, and then carry on with our travels after picking up our trailer. It served our purposes for that. Campers should be aware, however, that this is a farm and that means roosters (this was not our first stay with roosters, so the 4am wake up was not a surprise for us, but other should be aware). The home and property are beautiful, but campers should also be aware that you are essentially camping at the end of the driveway, right behind the garage next to the barn, so the location does not feel very private. The listing is dog-friendly (we had our dog on-leash as required), and we were expecting animals (this is a farm after all), but we were not expecting 7 super-friendly and curious barn cats. Our kids loved this. Our dog did not. He lives with a cat at home, but did not appreciate seeing cats playing with his kids, etc and so there was lots of barking (which led to us feeling guilty about how much noise our dog was making). Finally, we discovered a lot of dog poop around our site (we assumed from the hosts' dog although possibly from previous campers) so had to watch our step. I would still recommend this location as it suited our needs and my kids had fun playing with the host's children before we left.

This working farm was a fantastic camp spot. Taryn was very accommodating to us using her land for our primitive style teardrop camper. Just Beautiful and peaceful. Town was super close with all amenities. Another plus was the Cowtown Rodeo and also the flea market was about 2 miles away.

We loved our stay, was so nice to get some fresh air and hear the animals and nature. Definitely recommend for a quiet getaway.
