Sweet Song Acres is 100+ acres of secluded forest nestled along the Little Sugar River, at the base of Perry Mountain. Located in rural Unity, NH and Charlestown, NH, just across the Vermont state line. Southernmost point, located in Charlestown is one of two campsites. The other is Shady Grove, located in Unity. The two sites, located in bordering towns share the same entrance and are connected by a 1/4 mile trail. Both are very large sites. Campers would drive to both sites down a trail so we highly recommend a vehicle with decent clearance and 4WD or AWD. Southernmost Point is a fully drive-in site. Shady Grove campers park above the site and the campsite is down a short path, just a few hundred feet or so. The property consists of varied terrain of rock ledges, lush moss, streams, and panoramic views at the summit. There are many options of local outdoor activities in the area or if you prefer, just sit and "listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock your soul".

Don’t hesitate to book it!
We loved our stay. The campsite is huge with what we considered an upper level and a lower level, and is by the river. We outfitted our truck and slept in it, and considered the upper deck the bedroom :). We set up chairs in the lower level by the river and enjoy the sounds of it which could be heard throughout the site. The hosts take great care of the space, the outhouse is immaculate, and they left flowers which really elevated the experience. (Thank you!) We went during peak foliage and the leaves were stunning. The weather was beautiful despite some rain. We had some trouble finding the campsite because we got there very late at night and couldn’t see the bridge described in the directions, but it was very easy to spot during the day. It’s red by the way. You can only get firewood from their supply to protect the living trees from invaders, and we had a little trouble with the fires as some of the wood we purchased was not really firewood but used building material boards but they hosts are so sweet; I’m guessing they would have positive feedback or advice for next time. There is a road directly across the river, it was very rarely frequented. Probably a car every five hours or more. The campsite is huge and very private. They provide fresh water as well which was so nice. It would be fun with a group as well I bet. Nothing but good vibes here. I would recommend this place if you’re looking for space, privacy, and to sleep by the sound of a river with ease.

Shady Grove
Lovely spot
Friendly hosts, great communication. We stayed at the Shady Grove site. We liked the two-tiered layout...cars and a picnic table up top where we cooked/ate, with another table down lower by the water which is near the fire pit we used each night. We all set up our tents near the brook, which sounded great to fall asleep to, and foliage was perfect. Note that the brook is right up against a road (about 20 feet from it or so). We didn't notice this in prior reviews and couldn't tell from pics. It is NOT a busy road but if you are sensitive to that, know that cars DO go by at any hour. Sitting around the campfire at night, expect headlights once in awhile. But like I said, not a busy road so it did not bother us enough to have a negative experience and we would come back!

Perfect camp
This campsite was absolutely perfect. It was exactly what we were looking for. A secluded camp, alongside a river, with amazing foliage. We had a great time, even with the rain, it was one of our best camping trips.

The site is large and has lots of room. We loved staying on the river. The hosts were friendly and responsive.
