This abandoned Corn Farm was purchased by Townsend Thorndike off the original family that settled the land as a retreat to get away from it all. As time went on plans to sell off some of the land came up. Townsend's son, Nick, saw how the property could be tainted with conventional development and take away from the magic the land held. So, Nick decided to move back to the homestead to create an example of what a healthy life for the land and its inhabitants looks like. Hip Camp is the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an ecofriendly, Intentional Community. Nick and his ever-growing tribe are creating a holistic, educational, retreat, workshop, and event center where people can come to learn how to co-exist in a harmonious relationship with nature and each other.
