Meh
The host needs to up his game!
1. Make sure the campsite are numbered
2. Make sure there is actually a porta potty if one is promised
3. Clear a space for tents, make sure there's no fire ant nests in the site
We ended up camping on the dead-end dirt road that goes by the sites - wherever they were was unclear.
This location is honestly more well suited to an RV than to tent campers. The freeway noise is atrocious and then every couple hours there's a train blowing it's horn so sleep was slim. Nothing the host can do about that of course.

Unfortunately we weren’t able to spend the night at Herzog Homestead due to our plans changing but the communication with the host was excellent! Very quick responses and she answered all of our questions in a timely manner!

Great place to stop over
The price was right - no frills - just as advertised.
Amazing starry night!

The host (Lynn), was super helpful and the view of the mountains at sunset was worth every penny.

Nice spot to land and pitch a tent.
We drove from Eugene, Oregon to this spot. We wanted to get a good first day of driving in on our way to Iowa and Minnesota. Herzog Ranch was a nice spot to land after 600 miles of driving. Popped our tent with the Ruby Mountains as our back drop. Stars were wonderful. Clean porto potty on site with a trash can.
The only thing I would say is better/clearer signage for camping spots. We only saw signs for site 1 and 2.
Overall, a spot for the price. We grabbed breakfast in Wells, NV which was about 30 miles east.

I have stayed here twice. It's flat, inexpensive, and a days drive from the house on my way across Nevada.
