Site fits any size of camper  Centered in the middle of small dam town Hungry Horse, Montana, this off-grid RV spot is a perfect location for exploring Hungry Horse and the surrounding towns including Whitefish, Columbia Falls, Kalispell, and Coram. Convenient basecamp for GNP exploration, it's only a 10-minute drive to the West Entrance of Glacier National Park. The site is within walking distance of several restaurants, grocery store, laundromat, gas station, post office, bar, dispensary, and souvenir shops with local products. It is also within walking distance of the old Hungry Horse School (200 North St) that has a great playground for kids. At the RV site, beautiful mountain views can be seen in the distance. Relax at the rear of the site at the picnic table tucked in with nature. Set up your lawn chairs on the small hill in the rear for a perched view of the site amongst the trees. Across the street is a small mini farm owned by a relative. She has goats, chickens, ducks, among other animals that can be seen from the street. This site is in a neighborhood, so expect to hear some occasional neighborhood activity. If you are sensitive to noise when sleeping, you may want to consider earplugs. Hungry Horse Dam is 4.5 miles away, with construction first starting in 1948 and completed in 1953. At the time of completion, it was the second-highest and third-largest concrete dam in the world. Annually, it generates about a billion kilowatt-hours of power from the water passing through. Hungry Horse is an unincorporated community and has a population of 634. The Flathead Valley is known for its recreational activities including hiking, fishing, camping, biking, water sports, and observing local wildlife. Flathead Lake is also a popular recreational area 30 miles away and the largest natural fresh water lake in the West. *Note: Must have your own camp toilet and be self-contained, but all types of campers welcome.
