Arcadia Valley BaseCamp
It was exactly what I was looking for in a fall camping trip! It was secluded, quiet and beautiful. I would definitely recommend and I’m looking forward to going again.

Great Space!
Sherri's land was just what we were looking for on a misty fall weekend: private, quiet, close to great trails, and ample firewood! We would highly recommend it. Thanks Sherri!

Peaceful
We ended up having to unexpectedly leave early, but we were looking forward to having a relaxing weekend here. The space is clean, large, and tucked back into the woods. It’s a perfect retreat for these cool, fall weekends.

Sherri's land was as described and very clean. The site was very peaceful and gave us plenty of privacy, plus the dogs had plenty of space to roam and play.

My trip was so nice, I did it twice
I've tent camped at High and Dry twice this year and thoroughly enjoyed both stays! The property was easy to find with the written directions. The hosts are lovely- on my first visit they offered to show me around the property and told me a bit about the history of the place. Since I was their only camper that night and it was especially windy, they graciously offered the use of the tiny house if I decided I wanted additional shelter.
The property is lovely; on my last visit I especially loved watching the fireflies light up around the small pond next to the old barn at twilight. The gravel campsite is across the bridge from the camper site and tiny house, so there's some privacy if there are other campers staying there. The water spigot and portapotty are also just a short walk across the bridge. Trash cans and plenty of firewood are provided at the site. This is a very quiet campsite and I heard plenty of wildlife including coyotes and a variety of birds.
This campsite is a very short drive from Ironton. I didn't spend a lot of time in town, but I do recommend stopping by the Arcadia Valley Roasting Company for a morning coffee.
If you're looking for a quiet and peaceful spot for car camping with easy access to Elephant Rocks State Park, Taum Sauk Mountain, and Johnson Shut-Ins State Park, I can't recommend this site enough!
