Echo Valley Camp, Michigan

This parcel has been used as a forest reserve throughout the 1900s. It is contiguous with several thousand acres of private and National Park owned forest, and is in a major wildlife corridor. It is home to black bear, deer, porcupines, coyotes, owls, and many other critters. It straddles the face of a large end moraine with a 200 ft elevation gain across the 40 acres; it is characterized by steep slopes dividing a wide bench ridge where the camp is established. The hilltop looks northeast to Big Glen Lake. There are a couple impressive kettle holes just north of the parcel. The forest is sugar maple and beech with hemlocks, with a rich diversity of native plants. Outside of the two acre campsite, the 40 acre property is protected in perpetuity by a conservation easement through the Leelanau Conservancy. I purchased this in 2015 to use as a camp, but not much is set up yet. Lets all work together to add to it each year!
