The campground is situated in the wooded area on the back of 27 acre horse farm which is known as "The Stables at Mezza Luna." Every year in the spring there are 4-6 Thoroughbred foals born that eventually will become racehorses. They live on the farm until they are 2 years old and then they go off to begin their racing career. In the daytime, when you are not sitting around your campfire, you can walk the fence lines and visit with the Mares and Foals or just watch them frolic in the fields. Hint! "They love peppermints, carrots and apples." Who knows, you might get to meet a future Kentucky Derby winner. Nearby attractions include: Vineyard 61 (5 minutes) Stone Silo Brewery (5 Minutes) Leechwood Haunted Forest (5 Minutes) October weekends only There are also chickens, ducks and peacocks that are very anxious to receive your love and affection with any type of treat as well. Kids can even go in the chicken coop and pick out their very own egg they can cook for their breakfast. For the energetic campers and kids there are also lots of trails that you can walk or hike on and there is a small stream the kids can play in. There also is a playground with swings, monkey bars, seesaw and trampoline. Don't miss out out on this hidden gem just minutes from our nation's capital.

Site RV1 less than 45'
our site was changed to RV site #3, down by the tent camping spots, and is more what we are looking for when camping. it was a nice, mostly level gravel pad and had full hook ups. only 1 other camper there when we were there, but plenty of space between sites. we didn't get a chance to explore the trails, but it was nice being next to the pastures and seeing the horses graze and play. Keith was helpful with getting us settled and bringing us the eggs we ordered, and he had us help ourselves to wood for campfires.

We had a great stay. Everything was ready for us when we got there. Keith communicated with us the entire time. Unfortunately, it rained while we were there, and Keith graciously offered the campsite to us for an extra night so we could enjoy the outdoors rain-free. We love this site. We will be back

Amazing Weekend!
Keith was puntual and the directions/instructions to get to the place were clear. It was a rainy and a little cold weekend and I still enjoyed it a lot. There was a lot of tranquility. Loved it! The stable with its horses located in a very beautiful place, the lights that illuminated the site at all times were a success, the creek, plenty of wood to light the fire pit, clean bathroom. I will definitely be back!!

Great closeby weekend adventure!
We had an awesome time. Although it was cold, the site was well equipped. Keith met us that evening, and took us to see the newborn foal and peacock. He let my grandson get eggs for breakfast from the henhouse. We were the only ones there for the weekend. My grandson loved exploring the stream, and going to pet the horses. We can't wait to go again!

We had a great weekend camping here. The site was clean and peaceful. A couple of people passed by the site on horseback throughout the weekend and we had constant views of all of the horses grazing on the hillside. We came home with a few fresh duck eggs, fed some chickens, saw a baby horse and a couple of peacocks. The host was helpful. Hoping to return and would definitely recommend!
