The property was acquired four years ago as a recreational property. The previous owner built the little cottage himself and hunted and fished on the bayou for 30 years.

Enjoy use of the property for camping, relaxing by a campfire, cooking inside from the functional kitchen or outside on the grill. Basic cooking utensils and pots/pans provided. Full-size refrigerator, microwave, gas stove and coffee maker. Paddle or fish on the bayou. 3 sit-in kayaks are available with your stay with life-jackets or bring your own. The kayaks have to be pulled down to the water. The bluff is a bit steep and does require some stamina, especially porting them back up. They can be tied to a tree during your stay. Cabin has a walk-in shower and toilet. Bring your own linens and towels! Washer and dryer on site. We have limited rod & reels and tackle, so bring your own. Live bait can be purchased at Happy Stop on LA-425 (Bring your own containers). Rural farming community. The nearest store is 11 miles away. Chemin-A-Haut State Park and Bussey Brake Reservoir is a 20-25 min drive. If you have additional guests they will need to bring their own portable mattress/sleeping bag or tent, and allow time for hot water heater to catch up between showers. Keep in mind it is a small cabin.
