Terrapin Hill Farm

22 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents350 acres · Harrodsburg, KY
The land that is now Terrapin Hill Farm has been a gathering place over the ages, and we have continued the tradition with music festivals, yoga retreats, weddings, and other celebrations. We believe that getting out in Nature... by camping, hiking, gazing at a campfire or at starry skies... is not only beneficial but necessary to our mental health. That's why we want to share our little slice of heaven with others.

We have a home built in 1796 on the property we renovated and an old barn (in need of renovation! Let us know if you can do this). We have a pond and lots of wildlife - birds, deer, rabbits, etc). You can park in the field next to the barn and have a great view of the horses in the fields. We are also at the top of a hill with great sunsets.

Little Slice of Heaven <3

2 sites · RVs, Tents5 acres · Bloomfield, KY
Learn more about this land: I live on 5.5 acres. It's peaceful and quiet and I love it here. I've stayed at other hip camps and simply decided that I would love to share my little slice of heaven with others passing through my area.  Notes: there is a wee bit of road noise, I live on a dead end road, there are 10 acres between my 5 acres and the Blue Grass Parkway.  I find it peaceful here and can easily ignore it but I'm mentioning it so your not surprised by it  ;)  The Neighbor dog (Roxy) is very friendly and might visit you while you are here :) You are welcome to hang a hammock in a small section of woods, by a small pond, or even on my covered porch. You are welcome to pitch a tent anywhere you like. You are welcome to park an RV or vehicle in the drive.  The drive is about 250ft long, you would need to back in in order to hook up to the 30 or 50 amp plug. RV's can use the 50 amp plug and hose for water. I have an outdoor shower and a camping toilet. I am ... - one hour from Lexington, Louisville, Elizabethtown, and Frankfort.- 1 mile from a mini mart with Gas, Ice, Pizza, Chicken Wings, Sandwiches, ect.- 6 miles from Dollar General and A pizza Restaurant - 15 ish miles from Wal-mart and other chain stores and restaurants I'm a great travel guide so feel free to tell me what your in town for or things you like to do. I will happily make you up a list of things to do and see and places to eat. Keenland, Churchill Downs, The Bourbon Tour (Jim Beam, Makers Mark, Heaven Hill, and many others) are within an hour of here. Also within an hour are 2 great bike paths, wonderful hiking and kayaking. As well as Great Shopping and Restaurants. Anything your heart desires.

Rockcastle Riverside

50 sites · RVs, Tents200 acres · Livingston, KY
Started as a retirement experiment, Rockcastle Riverside is a story told of music and family. We have almost 200 acres of beautiful country surrounded by the Daniel Boone National Forest in Rockcastle County. With a mile of river to swim, kayak, and fish and enchanted forest trails to hike, climb, or play, we have all of the best Kentucky has to offer! We have more established sites with fire rings, or you can find a place off the beaten path for more privacy, if you choose. The riverside is perfect for hammock camping, too.  We love music and often host bands on the weekends. We rent kayaks and canoes on site, as well. While there are almost 200 acres to escape into, on any fine night, the stage sits wit a drum kit and the will to make music within the Daniel Boone National Forest. Come play, come get away....we have it ALL! We have a little of something for everyone!

Farm and Forest

15 sites · RVs, Tents22 acres · Lexington, KY
This land has previously been a tobacco farm, a hay farm, and is now home to a few beef cattle. We acquired the property in 2017, and have been making it our own and enjoying it ever since. We have blazed trails through the woods for hiking, created campsites with fire rings, farmed hay, and grown various vegetables for self-consumption. We love the proximity of the farm to town, yet the seclusion we feel when we are out there.

Plantasia Homestead at Anglin Falls

1 site · RV, Tent35 acres · Mount Vernon, KY
Our property, Plantasia, is thirty-five acres of hardwood forest, lined with limestone boulders and sandstone cliffs, the occasional old growth tree, and mineral springs pouring out pure delicious water. The rest of the property is an old Appalachian homestead, featuring organic gardens and orchards, two farm cats and one farm dog, bee hives, and a flock of domestic ducks. The stewards are Phil, Sacha, and two year-old Aurora. We are particularly keen to welcoming other families and/or folks who live in relative sobriety. The springs feed into creeks which criss-cross the wildflower meadow, creating spaces to splash and explore with the minnows, crawdads, frogs, snakes, and whoever else you might find. To the interest of fossil hunters and rock hounds, the creeks are packed with geodes, agates, and relics of an age when Plantasia was the ocean floor (~250 million years ago). Down the road, the trailhead of one of Kentucky's greatest waterfalls, Anglin Falls, is within walking distance (though you can also drive there and park). Plantasia is also a short drive from Berea, the folk art capital of Kentucky, which features plenty of local shops and restaurants, as well as some beautiful trails on the outskirts of town (Brushy Fork for a relaxing stroll, or the Pinnacles for a big majestic hike).
