The Hughes Holler camp site is located in the mix grassed prairie of central Kansas. The site was once a homestead of some of the early pioneers of the area. While none of the remnants of the former farmstead remain. The the tranquility of sitting at a campfire on the banks of the pond can let ones mind wonder about what life would have been like living there in days gone by. The site includes a spring fed pond with abundant fishing, predominately white bass. Guests are allowed to keep any fish they wish to eat on site. But please release any others back into the pond. There is a wooded area which provides nice shade for an area to relax from the Kansas summer sun and wind. Campers can also enjoy a camp fire either pond side of underneath the trees. Sleeping accommodations are in a deluxe water proof tent. There are 2 queen air mattress which will comfortably sleep 4 people. There is also a composting toilet on site. Glamping Hosts provide some hot drink mixes, a coffe perculator, pot for boiling water, or making soup, a cooking grate for the fire, some hygiene products. We are working on a solar shower! We are located 2 miles from the Kanopolis Lake wildlife and recreation area. Which includes numerous hiking trails at Horse Thief canyon. As well as 7 miles from historic Marquette with its unique downtown shops and activities: distillery, motorcycle museum, soda fountain shop/homemade ice cream, disc golf course, grocery store and liquor store. Also, located just 15 miles from Little Swedon, Lindsborg, KS. Hughes Holler Glamping
Wonderful glamping setup!
The tent setup was wonderful, very roomy with lots of little things, like lanterns and paper towels to meet your needs. The pond was picturesque, with the sounds of frogs and birds helping you enjoy the setting. We only stayed one night passing through but we were able to catch and release some bass and crappie after waking up to enjoy the peaceful morning. Would definitely recommend and sea again!

Hughes Holler Glamping
A lovely place to relax
This is an excellent spot if you want to do fun stuff around Kanopolis, but have more privacy. It’s well situated for the Lake Legacy Trail which is both lovely Kansas Prairie and Smoky Hill and also historical. The (free) motorcycle museum in Marquette was a fun stop when it rained. I was happy with the camp ground. The hosts were responsive and helpful. At the site saw a number of native flora and fauna: horny toads, an owl, big bull frogs, meadow larks, mulberries, Kentucky coffee tree, and sand plums.

Hughes Holler Glamping
High Five for Hughes Holler!
We had the most amazing time at Hughes Holler. The land was so clean, full of life and wildflowers. We caught fish after fish in the lake. The tent was huge with nice air mattresses and bedding. There was even a basket with extras like fire starters, coffee, cream, hot chocolate, soap, hand sanitizer, toilet paper. Gina and Brad went above and beyond. We hope to be back soon.
