Welcome to the base of the beautiful Selkirk mountains, we’re nestled in between the beautiful lake resort town of Sandpoint ID and the picturesque resort area know at priest lake. Our property was originally homesteaded back before Idaho was a state by a trapper who fell in love with this lush little valley in the mountains. Once Idaho did become a state, the officials decided to keep the land surrounding this little oasis making it completely surrounded by thousands of acres of state endowment land usable to the public. There are three full time creeks that run though the property along with a few beaver made ponds and one large man made swimming pond. The site boasts hundreds of campsites ranging from dry RV parking to small tents on rock ledges overlooking the lush valley. Expect to see deer, elk, moose, turkey and a few other wild animals roaming the land around you. We have the space for event camping as well, we have a large covered gazebo for shaded group meals. Furthermore there is also a band stand for ceremonies and live music on select dates. We’re only 12 miles from town but you get that feeling of being out of the rush of the outside world.*We had a mosquito complaint, however we did address this issue and the last campers said there were very few left about. We are keeping a close eye and will respray as necessary* Hose shoes, volley ball, space for corn hole and just about any out door activity you can imagine. The lower sites are drive up and unload, however for the motivated campers there are many beautiful secluded little spots nestled in next to little creeks and rock bluffs for amazing views. We have covered areas for gathering for meals and there are lots of available camping tables for use. Bring your floaty and relax on the swimming pond or just lounge on the dock or sandy beach. At night we have a large bonfire area and if weather permits we allow personal camp fires as well. We are open all year, some dates are blacked out for events and music festivals but the festivals are also open to the public so you just have to get here early for the better spots. In the spring the roads get a little muddy, but it’s the perfect time of year to roll out your side by side and get a little dirty. Late spring early summer, brings out all the beautiful colors and abundance of mushrooms, berries (huckleberries, black berries and even wild strawberries) just to name a few. The creeks are filled with little brook trout for you angles. If you’re a hunter, we offer a great spot to camp while you’re searching for your game. Winter time is great for bringing you snow machines up and accessing 100’s miles of riding trails right out the door.

Amazing spot!!
We stayed here for a couple nights for my husbands birthday and what can I say, what a beautiful piece of property! We had it all to ourselves which was nice! The swimming hole was amazing considering how hot it was. William was very accommodating and very kind! The drive there was super easy as well! Definitely a 10/10 stay and we will be back!

Prater mountain escape
The host was fantastic! Beautiful property and so well cared for. We really enjoyed the incredible view of the stars, the sound of the creek, our dip in the pond which was very clean, and and the wild flowers. It was easy to find and we appreciated the host’s clear instructions for how to find it. As listed, the camp site is a large open field surrounded by trees with the ability to camp wherever. For planning ahead, we recommend bringing good bug spray for the mosquitoes at night and something for shade if full sun/partial shade isn’t your jam. Overall great experience. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Gorgeous secluded property!
My friend and I car camped with our dog and loved our stay here! It’s a little tricky to find but William sent us really helpful directions and put out signs to direct us along the way. William and his folks were super welcoming and the property is so beautiful :) we even saw some moose on our way in!
