On a calm night you can even hear the waves, while you grill outside in the garden. The modern off-grid dome has everything that you need to recharge for your next Hawaiian adventure.In a quiet neighborhood with lovely neighbors, you can hear the waves crashing at night on the shoreline just one mile away where you can sit on the cliffs and enjoy the view. Situated on a very private acre this dome has everything you need to charge up for your island adventures. There is a hot water shower, flushing toilet facilities, a propane stove top, a refrigerator and a comfy queen size bed. There is also a generator available to power an air conditioner for those hotter days. It comfortably houses two people, but two others could through down a mattress in the living space or set up a tent outside no problem.

Homestead Family Tent w/Hot Shower

Very well located!

We stayed two nights at Peter's place. It is conveniently located between Hilo and the Volcano NP. The place was easy to find and we were able to stay in their tent, which we were very grateful for! We had an outside shower with hot water, a cooking stove and potable water. I would advise to bring some bug spray as it got a little buggy at night (outside the tent). Peter was very responsive and helpful and I definitely recommend staying there!

Homestead Family Tent w/Hot Shower

Great stay and perfect location

We loved staying at Homestead Hale! It is a beautiful plot of land that feels like a little tropical paradise. Peter and Kate were kind hosts who made sure we had everything we needed. They provided a large tent platform and well positioned tarp to protect us from groundwater and rain, which falls daily in the region. We also used their huge family tent which they were kind enough to set up for us. The compost toilet facilities were clean and odor-free and the outdoor shower was indeed hot! They even gave us some delicious fresh eggs from their chickens. I highly recommend staying here and I hope to make it back to Puna area and stay at Homestead Hale again!
