Hawaii Island's Best Campsite
What a fun place to stay! We took a camper van so they put us up on the basketball court to stay dry due to the rain along with a few other camper vans. The walkthrough on arrival was very clear and friendly. The outdoor shower was very cool! Looks like it would also be such an interesting stay if you were to stay inside the house.

Loved the stay!
We stayed in campervan: beautiful property, great amenities, friendly dogs, majestic macadamia nut forest.
Will stay again, and highly recommend!

Hawaii Island's Best Campsite
Great place to stay.
Staying at Hawaii Island's Best Campsite was great.
We originally had 3 nights booked, but only stayed 2 nights given our desire to see other parts of the island on our trip. The location was about 45 mins from the Volcano National Park and 15 minutes to any restaurant/coffee.
The check-in process was excellent and started with meeting the host and getting a tour of the site. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. Given the significant rain the day we arrived, we had to park on the tennis/basketball court, which was flat and had sunset views. The site had 2 very friendly and quiet dogs. There were several bathrooms and hot showers available. The main house/lodge was off-limits to campers. Although, you had free-range of the beautiful macadamia tree and mango tree orchard. There was also a heated salt-water pool that was available to guests 24/7.
The only improvement one would suggest for this place, is a communal kitchen area, with coffee makers, hot plates, etc. This place was great if you are 100% self-sufficient. We had camper abilities with coffee makers and hot plates, but it is always nice to have a place outside of the camper that is sheltered from the elements to prepare meals or hot drinks.
Overall, we would recommend this place for 1-2 nights and for those needing a transition point to break-up the drive from Hilo to Kona.
