Old McDonnell's Farm is a unique combination of farm and forest, with its expansive pasture, fruit orchards, vineyards and bountiful organic foods. This 40 acre property, has old oak trees, draped in Spanish moss, so popular in Savannah, Georgia and other coastal towns and is meticulously cared for by its owner, Leah McDonell. It's a beautiful, quiet getaway for the weary urbanite.
We have three cows, a flock of free range chickens and a handful of goats and their babes that are great fun to watch.
We grow organic food in abundance and the care of the food and animals is our full time occupation.
We have one 50 amp RV hook-up site and one tent camp site. Both can accommodate additional tents upon request. All are surrounded by trees but are in view of the farm and the main house where meals are prepared when requested in advance. The tent campers must be part of the RV party as we do not have toilet facilities at this time.
With strict adherence to rules, camp fires are allowed. Water is available at the camp site.
The center of Guyton is 6 miles away and the town of Rincon, Georgia is just a 20 minute drive, where there are more shopping and eating out options.Pitch your tent or rent one of ours in this lovely wooded landscape and working farm. We have one 50 amp RV site, as well. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, and composting toilet. You will just be a two minute walk from the main house and farm and right at the start of a 3/4 mile hiking trail around this 40 acre property. This is a stunningly beautiful getaway, a chance to unplug and enjoy the outdoors.
For additional costs and upon request, farm tours and farm fresh meals are available.
Our happy flock of chickens roam the property freely and the Nigerian goats are very friendly. Please observe the cows from a distance and do not enter the pasture without supervision.
