We are so excited to host you at our farm. Just a bit of info & history. It is a total of 68 acres, and before we purchased it in 2014 it was called Daniel Nursery. It was a pretty big operation, in its peak selling to Wal-Mart & Home Depot all the way up the east coast. They were in business for over 40 years when the family decided they did not want to continue operating the business. A few years after starting King of Pops, Steven and Nick Carse were looking for a small farm to teach our community about sustainable farming and grow some amazing ingredients for our pops while we were at it. We were ideally looking for one to two acres close to the city, but when we toured this property we fell in love. It has taken a lot of work to reclaim land that had been dead under shade cloth for decades. - There is a ton of work still to be done, but we are so excited about our progress. We grow blackberries, blueberries, ginger, mint and basil for our pops currently. We’ve also added muscadines, pears, asian pears, paw paw and plums which we are very excited about. If you take any pictures please use the hastag #kingofcrops on instagram or facebook. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent at the worlds first popsicle farm! We have several ponds for fishing and acres of fruit orchards (blueberries, blackberries, elderberries, muscadines, pears, and plums) for a peaceful nature walk and a couple of survivor chickens! We’re just down the road from a small winery and just a hop from Serenbe.  Heads up: we have a compost operation on site just past the barn that sometimes smells... like compost. All open sites are currently away from the compost where you should not notice. Check out compostnow.org for more info.
