This is not a waterfront site. You are not camping on the water, however, Rainbow River Peek is named because you can get a peek of the river from the site. You can bike to the river in about two minutes. This is a small, narrow (14ft wide) but quiet area, a few hundred feet from The Rainbow River. Located on a dead-end street, this RV site is a work in progress, yet livable. It is partially surrounded by Florida foliage next to a pole barn. There is a 50amp plug but you can use a 30amp adapter that I can provide. If you have slideouts, your living space will be limited but there is a picnic area that everyone uses, as well. The sewer is about 50ft from the site and you can dump on your way in or out.
About the Site: It is only 25 feet long and about 14ft wide. Anything more than 23 ft will be a challenge. There will not be much room to sit outside of your camper door but there is a separate space for relaxation, next to it. (See Pictures) You will be able to extend your awning, if you'd like, with a few feet of area under it. The back of the RV site has an area with a small table and 10x10 pop up.
The Rainbow River is a gorgeous river that is walking distance from the site. There is a beach, free boat launch, free kayak launch, tiki bars with live entertainment, antique shops, restaurants and a Publix all within biking and walking distance.
EXTRAS:
Kayak Excursion: For $15 a person, if my schedule allows, I can transport up to two people and two of my kayaks to the head of the river. It is a 1.5 hour kayak paddle, with the current, back to the kayak launch near the RV site. However, you are encouraged to take as long as you want on the river before dark. You can also stop at the waterfront restaurant, Swampy's, and be picked up there. (Signing a waiver is needed)
Firewood: For $8 a bundle, firewood is bought locally by me and I sell it to you.
You'll love how close the river beach, tiki bars, grocery stores and antique shops are!! All within biking distance.
Cancellation: I have chosen *Super Strict because I have had too many last minute cancellations. I also like to travel and when a reservation is made, I make sure I stay in town to help with kayak excursions and/or parking. When people cancel within seven days of their stay, I've lost business and I've lost my time to make my own reservations to camp. Please understand, most of us are not campgrounds with employees. I will refund firewood and kayak excursions, but not camping nights, so please be sure of your dates.
Just like most campgrounds, check-in is after 3 and checkout, before 1 for cleanup between reservations. However, those times are negotiable if no arrival or departures those days.
* Super Strict - If a Hipcamper cancels at least 1 week before their check in day and time, they’ll receive a 50% refund (minus Hipcamp fees). If they cancel within 1 week before check in, there will be no refund,
Please contact me regarding more questions. I really am a nice person but have to be more strict about cancellations. :)
