Learn more about this land: 40 Acres surrounded by nature with a 1700 acre wildlife preserve to the West and BLM to the North and East. We have two ponds plus wetlands that are home to native turtles. You can visit them during the day if you are quiet. We are very secluded with no electricity and only one good area for cell. This allows people to spend more time with nature than with their phones. There is an unexplored cliff with fresh mountain springs to the East and a beautiful Glen on the Western side of the property. It is common to hear a grouse stomping or a woodpecker going about their day. The Cinnamon bears visit sometimes but does not approach people and will run off at the first sound of humans. This is an animal sanctuary. The bears also have their own trail on the property, ask one of the hosts to show you their park area.  If you are lucky, you will get to hear the pacific tree frogs sing at night. If you come in the winter the snow shoeing possibilities are epic. In the summer the views are incredible. This is one of the more scenic areas on the property. You can even hike further up for the best view of the valley ever. The stars are clear at night up here and campfires are magical. Hear an owl in the middle of the night or maybe a group of frogs celebrating water by the moonlight.

Star Camp
We had a great time in Mark's camp! He was extremely helpful about meeting us at the entrance of the property, giving us a tour, lending us a water filter, and allowing us to choose between open sites for the weekend. We really loved exploring the land and stargazing, and will definitely look for a spot here again if we are back in the area. A few considerations - water for drinking was a short hike away from our campsite (but is closer to the other site), so make sure you bring containers / water bladders to carry water back so you don't have to make a ton of trips. Our car is a Prius and had a bit of trouble on the driveway, so we left it parked partway. The other car in our party, a Honda Fit, had no trouble. This was our first experience on Hipcamp and we are very happy with how everything went! Thanks, Mark. :)
