Key Largo Cottages

1 site ¡ Lodging1 acre ¡ Key Largo, FL
Established in 1999, Paul chose this property because the water is warm and clear, and he thought he was about to retire. He initially purchased a bayside house with 2 extra cottages and 2 sailboats. But as his rental business grew, Paul purchased the surrounding properties as well. Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages is now known to many sailors and non sailors alike to provide an all inclusive Florida Keys vacation by giving them cottages plus access to sailboats, kayaks, paddle boards, snorkel gear, fishing gear, and bicycles. Bareboat charters, sunset cruises and sailing lessons are also offered.Learn more about this land:The Sailfish is a unit at Key Largo Cottages. We are located on the bay side of Key Largo near some of the best dive/snorkel sites, island excursions, bars, restaurants, and the Everglades. Experience water fun! A stay in one of our cottages comes with unlimited use of our kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, snorkel gear, fishing equipment, and, of course, the use of one of our 22' sailboats, if you have recent sailing experience on keel boats! You won't find a better deal in the Keys! This beautiful, free-standing, "Honeymoon Suite" is the Sailfish, which is right in front of the bay with it's own attached tiki hut that looks over the water. The Sailfish has a 1/4 bath and features a large, completely private outside tiki shower. It has a queen size bay view bed, compact refrigerator, 2-burner stove, cooking and dining utensils, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker with filters. Please note: We don’t provide toiletries; however, we do provide beach towels, bath towels, and linens. This is NOT a dog-friendly cottage. The Sailfish accommodates just 2 adults.

Pelican Point

1 site ¡ Lodging40 acres ¡ Key Largo, FL
Welcome to PELICAN POINT! We are so excited to share one of our favorite places with you. Come enjoy our brand new luxury RV with all the amenities of home. We have a 38 foot Sport Trek Touring Edition trailer. It is tastefully decorated, very clean and in an excellent location within the Kampground. If you enjoy cooking then you're going to love this set up. There is an outdoor kitchen with a propane flattop grill, food preparation area, outdoor refrigerator, TV with DVD player, bluetooth speakers, and a stainless steel sink! It is the ultimate entertainment space. We have tried to achieve the "glamping" status for our guests. Gather the family, grab a cozy blanket and watch a movie on the 8 foot custom made sofa with sunbrella cushions. Take a stroll to the beach at the end of the street or just simply hang out at the pool. If you want to get really crazy, join the locals for BINGO at the clubhouse! (only offered in the winter season). There are boat slips for rent, a boat ramp, swimming pool, beach volleyball, basketball, bocce ball, badminton, children's playground, laundry facilities and more. The master bedroom has a queen sized Layla memory foam mattress, a fireplace for chilly nights (we do get some cool days every once in a while!) and an en-suite bathroom. The couch has heated massage seats that recline with cup holders, an outlet and USB charging ports. There is a wireless charging pad above the fireplace in the main living area for your convenience. The kitchen is upgraded with solid surface counters, stainless steel sink and has a gas stove. There is a full Calphalon pot and pan set, Ninja blender, Calphalon toaster, pour over coffee, electric kettle and all the things you'll need to cook for your loved ones. The dinette converts into a bed. The bunk room is in the rear and not just a fun place to sleep. There is a table for board games and another full size sofa. During the day that would be a perfect place to work from home remotely. The couch is a jack knife style which converts into a full size bed. There are three additional beds, 3 with mattress toppers as well so everyone will be very comfortable! The windows have black out shades so if you have little ones they can nap mid-day after they've had a full morning of fun! Each bedroom has a 32 inch wall mounted smart TV, the living room has a 40 inch as well as the outdoor entertainment area. Both 40 inch TV's are equipped with DVD players and Roku's so feel free to login to any of your own streaming accounts. The trailer has high speed wifi. There are two separate bath houses in the Kampground. They are both a short walk from the trailer and have full showers and toilets. One is located on the backside of the main office and the other is across from the clubhouse. This is great for larger groups! It allows more people to get ready at the same time, especially if you're trying to make it to dinner reservations. That just means more time for sightseeing or relaxing at the pool! While the trailer has 1.5 bathrooms this is a great bonus. Outside of the Kampground there is every activity you could image from jetskis, to eco-tours, fan boats, snorkeling, swimming with the dolphins, scuba diving, para-sailing, live music, boat charters where you get to keep your catch! You can even bring it to a local restaurant where they will prepare it for you. Check out the guest book for more info on restaurants and activities. Glamping near Key Largo guide

Overview

Fringed by lush tropical forests, sandy beaches, and a kaleidoscope of coral reefs, Key Largo is Mother Nature’s gift to the Florida Keys. A short hop from the mainland and just an hour’s drive from Miami, the first of the Keys is ground zero for snorkelers and scuba divers, and the gateway to the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Dagny Johnson Key Largo Hammock Botanical State Park. Campers have everything from 4-star RV resorts and glampsites to rustic coastal campgrounds at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. All you need now is a Rum Runner cocktail and a slice of Key Lime pie.

Where to go

Upper & Middle Keys

The 113-mile-long Overseas Highway stretches west from Key Largo, and it’s a road trip like no other, passing 42 bridges and linking 800 islands. Campgrounds are easily found in the Upper and Middle Keys, where you can go boating and fishing around the six islands of Islamorada, take a hike in Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park, then cross the Seven Mile Bridge to Marathon. Curry Hammock State Park and Long Key State Park both have tent and RV camping away from the crowds.

Lower Keys

Wildlife refuges and marine sanctuaries await in the Lower Keys, and these tranquil islands provide plenty of options for campers, from seaside cottages and glampsites to ocean-view RV campgrounds. Don’t miss the wild beaches and bays of Bahia Honda State Park, a hotspot for snorkeling and stand-up paddleboarding, and the National Key Deer Refuge at Big Pine Key.

Key West & Dry Tortuga

With its eclectic architecture, colorful conch houses, and historic monuments—most famously the homes of Ernest Hemingway and Tennessee Williams—Key West is the coolest camping spot in the Keys. Once you’ve watched the sunset from Mallory Square, dined at one of the restaurants along Duval Street, and tried out the latest adrenaline-fuelled water sports, hop on a ferry or seaplane for an island camping getaway at Dry Tortugas National Park.

Everglades National Park

Just a short drive from Key Largo, the Everglades National Park has more than 600,000 hectares of UNESCO-protected landscapes, where you can cruise through the wetlands, kayak around the marshes, and spot alligators, manatees, and wading birds. Explore on a day trip or stay the night at one of the park’s two campgrounds.

When to go

Year-round sunshine and warm waters make Key Largo a hotspot for winter sun, and December through March is peak season. High prices and big crowds are expected at this time, so book ahead, but it’s also the liveliest time to visit, with festivals such as the Key Largo Boat Parade. Camping is possible through summer, but high humidity, temperatures over 90°F, and hurricane season (June-November) can temper travel plans.
