Wooded, FHU, tent and Glamping Sites! - Welcome to Gateway Trails! Our site offers a place to stay as a gateway to Destin, Okaloosa Island, Pensacola Beaches and waterways, or to the expansive local activities in the Blackwater State Forest and surrounding rivers, including hiking, hunting, canoeing, & kayaking! We have: 3 FHU Sites - Water, electric, and Sewer at each site. (One 50 AMP + Two 30 AMP sites); Boondocking Site, Primitive Site, and Glamping in our refurbished 2003 Dutchman Camper. The site is on fully fenced in 14 acres. The campsites are behind a natural barrier of trees that offer privacy. Well-maintained walking/biking/hiking trails are on the property, with many shaded sections. Porta potty on site for our tent campers and boondockers, but coming soon - a bathroom house w/ flush toilet! Our Sites: Red Oak Nook has 50 AMP power and we have an available converter from 50 AMP to 30 AMP. Go Bull's Landing and Long Leaf Landing both have a 30 AMP power hookup. We also offer Cozy Camper at Long Leaf Landing for an amazing "glamping" experience with A/C, microwave, refrigerator, and RV bathroom & shower! We also have a primitive site and Boondocking site. A large spacious boondocking/tent site and a walk in primitive site! Something for everyone! We are pet friendly! Though pets need to be on a leash outside of your site. Bull's Landing

Bus in the woods!

Lovely, wooded, peaceful place, off the beaten path. Missed the turn into the gate, but I'm a master at u- turns, when I returned, Jay was waiting at the gate, 10 minutes later we were on our full hookup. Fire ring already had a fire burning. Next morning I walked the property trails, very well kept, I wore flip-flops with no problems. Nice what they've done to preserve the wooded feel and keep everything accessible. Wi-Fi worked well. My rig is an old bus 31ft, pulling my Hyundai, bus is heavy, yet no problems whatsoever. Like to have stayed longer, wouldn't fit my schedule. If you have 2 rv with full hookups and a bunch of kids with tents, bicycles and some energy, this place would be perfect. Although if you want a quite place to recuperate, don't tell the kids!

Red Oak Nook

First HC Experience Sets High Bar!

This was my first Hip Camp experience, and it was so wonderful! Jay and Suzette set the bar pretty high for other hosts. My favorite part was the walking trails. My dog loved to be able to take a two-three laps a couple times a day. The trail was exactly a half mile. The sites are spacious and super cute, nestled under tall pines and equipped with beautiful fire rings and wooden Adirondack chairs. I had to work during the day and I spent the evenings visiting my grandma, So I unfortunately, did not have time to enjoy a fire and lounge in the chairs. But was such a beautiful spot for it. There is firewood for purchase (minimal fee) on site. I enjoyed hearing the next-door donkey braying and the morning crowing from the roosters. The only thing I didn’t particularly enjoy it was the neighbors dogs barking one night, but it was only the one night. Jay brought a 50 to 30 amp converter since the pedestal was 50amp, and my rig is 30. Thank you Jay and Suzette!
