Primitive camping

Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.

My husband and I bought this property in 2010 after selling our beach house in California. We have adapted to mountain life with the change of seasons and so much wildlife here in Colorado. I even had a close encounter with a bear! It was about twelve feet away from me; we looked at one another and I said, "Oh, hello." After several seconds it simply turned around and walked away. I was surprisingly calm and so was the bear. We frequently have deer and elk visiting our property along with squirrels and chipmunks. We especially enjoy the hummingbirds that show up in May. I created a garden with their favorite flowers so they have their own little sanctuary here. We have a seven-year-old chocolate lab names Yogi who loves people and friendly dogs. He loves to go on hikes and swim in lakes. Conveniently located in south Evergreen near hiking trails, Evergreen Lake, pickle ball and tennis courts and downtown Evergreen with two restaurants within walking distance. There is a view of pine trees and Mt. Evans along with deer and elk stopping by to graze on the property. Your campsite is next to a Zen garden that attracts a variety of birds and butterflies. You have a picnic table and chairs to enjoy the view and sunset. This space accommodates dry camping self-contained vans only. Although you will be camping next to our home we will respect your privacy.

This camp spot, as advertised and priced, is pretty basic. - a level space at the end of the residential driveway. It is good for car camping/tent or a van. It would be very tight for a larger camper. The host was very pleasant. The price is reasonable. I would stay here again, especially given there a no other camping options in the area.
