Mesatop Van Spot
I loved camping out in the Salida desert on Mike’s land.
Mike was very accommodating and more than that, a friend. I was able to pitch my tent on a flat surface and cook my meals from my camp stove on the picnic table.
Downtown was just an 8 min drive away.
All at an affordable price!
Would highly recommend.

Quiet, beautiful and welcoming!
Mike was a great host! He was very welcoming. The spot was quiet and beautiful. We'd recommend staying here if you are in the Salida area!

Great stay for FIBArk!
Mike’s camp spot was perfect! Located ~2 miles from downtown Salida, you have quick access to everything but feel secluded enough to enjoy some privacy and beautiful nature. Mike was very accommodating (even baked and shared some muffins!) and friendly. He spent time getting to know us and also gave us plenty of privacy. We are looking forward to coming back again! We already miss “Mugs” (his cat). Thanks Mike!
Make sure to bring something for “number 2” if you are tent camping - or just do your more important business when downtown.
