The Little Scraggy Camp is located on 95 acres of an historic 160-acre ranch that was homesteaded by our family in the 1890’s, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. This totally off-grid ranch is surrounded by Pike National Forest, yet has easy access from a paved road. We offer several accommodations and glamping sites, as well as sites for moderate sized RVs, travel trailers, tents, and hammocks. Additionally, we have sites for small groups (up to 14 people) and large groups (35-200 people). Potable drinking water is available from onsite 270-gallon water tanks. Portable toilets are only a short walk away from sites. Friendly dogs are welcome to enjoy your campsite off leash, but please clean up after your dog. If your pet has any aggressive tendencies, it must be leashed. Recently added is a 4 hole disc golf putting course for you to practice your shots or try your hand, with 4 sets of discs provided. We also have a cornhole toss game at both the glamping/rv camp area and tent/rv area. We are an ideal basecamp for the casual or dedicated trail enthusiast. The ranch itself has several trails and easy trail loops to explore within and just outside of the ranch’s fence lines, with direct access to the 9.5-mile Little Scraggy Trail and Segment #3 of the Colorado Trail. Just 3.5 miles away is the Little Scraggy Trailhead, where you will find easy access for biking, hiking, or horseback riding on the many other trails of the Buffalo Creek area. Additionally, we have an extensive network of hiking and horse trails that avoid conflicts with mountain bikers. You might prefer rock climbing Little Scraggy or fishing the gold-medal waters of the South Platte River canyon below Cheesman Dam and the waters near Deckers. For a day trip, Wellington Lake is only 30 minutes away for no-wake water sports. Many people enjoy kayaking on the North Fork of the South Platte downstream from nearby Buffalo Creek. This is a working ranch where we raise and train horses and ponies. Our particular interest is in carriage driving, and we offer driving experiences upon request. Our site called Mountain Horse Camp, provides 3 individual porta-panel horse corrals. There is limited cell service.

Despite being on a mountain, over 70% of the property sits on level or gently sloping ground making it perfect for camping spots and events. The Eastern edge borders public land, infinitely expanding access and hiking opportunities. It’s only 1,500 feet from a large reservoir and river- both are accessible by hiking or an easy 5 minute drive. 105 West Ranch also has some deep and unique history. Our area was originally surveyed in 1881. After that, miners came through in the late 1800s and dug prospector pits looking for gold. Many of these pits and even some old tin cans from miner's camps are still visible on the property today. In 1931, the area was re-surveyed with more accuracy. In 1936, the President of the United States, FDR, granted a land patent (homestead) of 632 acres to homesteader. Part of this 632 acre homestead granted by the President was what is now 105 West Ranch. Fast forward nearly 100 years. My wife, Rachel, and I bought this property in 2019, fulfilling a life-long dream of owning our own land. Rachel and I live for the outdoors, we work in the outdoor industry and spend every chance we get exploring our beautiful state with our two dogs. The other half is rolling grassy meadows that we use to graze our horses and cows. There is an original, caved in homestead site on the property and we have set up some vintage patio furniture in the meadow in front of the homestead, which is a great place for happy hour or to watch the sunset! Our menagerie of animals is always changing, but we currently have 4 dogs, 5 horses, a mule, 1 goat, 6 ducks and some barn cats, and a small herd of miniature cows. You are welcome to visit with them, but we do not allow guests into any of the corrals or pastures with the animals and we do not offer any horseback riding. You are welcome to bring a pet with you, but please know that you are responsible for keeping your pet safe around all of the other animals and livestock that live onsite. !!!!!!!HUNTERS WELCOME!!!!! If you harvest an animal during your stay you are welcome to hang it in our shop for the remainder of your stay. This wonderful space is magical in every way! Only 300 sq. feet with an almost 1100 sq. foot deck, including the gnome room. The upstairs bedroom is a full mattress (14" gel mattress). There is also a fold-out couch to sleep 1 (must fold bed stairs and put it under the bed). The main level couch will fold down and become another bed platform. We provide a CordaRoys transformable chair, that unzips and becomes the bed topper (plus extra sheets, blankets and pillows). Some of the kid guests like to sleep in the Cabana room in the "pop-up" tent and cots! We provide a "smart movie projector" with built-in ROKU, for a movie night...The outdoor kitchen includes a PitBoss pellet smoker/grill and there is also a charcoal grill on the ground level. The kitchen has a 2-burner gas stove and a small refrigerator. The bathroom has a Nature's Head composting toilet... (a little tutorial is needed) a sink and a trough step-in tub/shower with rain head. Wifi- Roku on inside TV as well, PS4 PlayStation with 31 games! You might prefer rock climbing Little Scraggy or fishing the gold-medal waters of the South Platte River canyon below Cheesman Dam and the waters near Deckers. For a day trip, Wellington Lake is only 30 minutes away for no-wake water sports. Many people enjoy kayaking on the North Fork of the South Platte downstream from nearby Buffalo Creek. This is a working ranch where we raise and train horses and ponies. Our particular interest is in carriage driving, and we offer driving experiences upon request. Our site called Mountain Horse Camp, provides 3 individual porta-panel horse corrals. There is limited cell service.

A mountaintop ranch in Colorado that sits below the famous Colorado “14er”, Pikes Peak. This property sits on top of a mountain at an elevation of nearly 10,000ft and features 3 unique Glamping sites! The ranch features a tiny cabin, geodesic dome tent and platform canvas tent. The sites sit on 100 acres of private, pristine Colorado mountain land that offers over 3 miles of private hiking trails and unrivaled views in all directions. A large, mature aspen grove covers most of the property and views to the south stretch over 100 miles! Despite being on a mountain, over 70% of the property sits on level or gently sloping ground making it perfect for camping spots and events. The Eastern edge borders public land, infinitely expanding access and hiking opportunities. It’s only 1,500 feet from a large reservoir and river- both are accessible by hiking or an easy 5 minute drive. 105 West Ranch also has some deep and unique history. Our area was originally surveyed in 1881. After that, miners came through in the late 1800s and dug prospector pits looking for gold. Many of these pits and even some old tin cans from miner's camps are still visible on the property today. In 1931, the area was re-surveyed with more accuracy. In 1936, the President of the United States, FDR, granted a land patent (homestead) of 632 acres to homesteader. Part of this 632 acre homestead granted by the President was what is now 105 West Ranch. Fast forward nearly 100 years. My wife, Rachel, and I bought this property in 2019, fulfilling a life-long dream of owning our own land. Rachel and I live for the outdoors, we work in the outdoor industry and spend every chance we get exploring our beautiful state with our two dogs. As a 4th generation Coloradan, it's been a lifelong dream to own a (relatively) small part of the state my family has called home since the late 1800s. Now that we own our own piece of Colorado heaven we want to share the unforgettable experience, memories and beauty of our property with others looking for an escape from the city.
