Awesome camping spot!
Tent camped at the site. Place was awesome. Very secluded - didn’t see one other car even drive by the whole time. Go slow on the road in. Views were incredible. Bring chairs for around the campfire. Definitely will be coming back!!!

Tow-Behind Camper for the Eclipse!
We loved the spot! We had no issues finding or accessing the property, thanks to Kevin's highly detailed instructions. The view was spectacular, and we had a perfect spot for the eclipse. The facilities provided were also excellent.
Kevin, thank you for having us. We'll definitely be back!

We will be back!
This place is BEAUTIFUL!
I would recommend this place to everyone!
We drove in a t night w/ our 20’ camper and it is completely doable. (Just go slow) the road is definitely wide enough.
Once on site the views are incredible! I wouldn’t recommend a trailer much longer than ours, if you pull in strait it can be pretty tight getting turned around to leave.
You are JUST BELOW THE TIMBERLINE!
I believe it was at 11,430.
We will be back for sure, the leaves in the valley below were beautiful.

Super windy
This is a nice spot if you want/need to acclimate for any of the nearby 14ers or enjoy OHV activity. We were self contained so we didn’t really use the amenities provided, and it was just too windy to take advantage of the firepit. The road in is pretty bumpy if dragging a trailer, but doable if you go slow.
Directions are pretty good. If you don’t know where Buckskin ends and Hwy 8 begins, look for the clearly marked Windy Ridge sign.

Great Stay! ⛰️🏔️
Hard to believe this a campsite. It’s so beautiful and we had a great time , second year in a row. We hope to continue this trip every year when we can or more. Kevin’s land is well taken care of and he communicates well.
We did hear a bob cat and saw lots of wildlife- no moose this time. Recommend keeping dogs leashed up here. Thanks again, Kevin!

Rustic fun
The site was VERY remote and had everything you need for an isolated get-away.
The drive is recommended for 4WD / high clearance vehicles only, it's a long haul on at-times-rough roads, but you cannot miss the site - it's the end of the road, and Kevin's directions are great. Having a bear-box and some rustic facilities (backcountry toilet (bring bags), gas firepit, grill and covered area) was a great touch. Consider bringing your own propane if you want to ensure ability to cook!
We decided to pick up a pizza to go on the drive in from The Saloon and enjoyed a quiet and snowy night this past Thursday.
