Pitch your tent under the stars next to Oaks, Pines, Manzanita, and Willows near Whitlock Creek (seasonal) in Gold Country. Take a trip to the Merced River, Yosemite National Park or just relax away from the lights and sounds of the city. You will frequently encounter deer, wild turkey, hawks, woodpeckers and possibly spy a bear or bobcat. We are off the beaten path and offer peace and quiet. The site is private and located at the foot of Potato Hill and aside 2 seasonal creeks. The creeks run pretty full in the rainy season and dry up mid-summer. There are Oak trees to hang a hammock, a picnic table, plenty of space to chose our tent site, or just sleep in your vehicle. The road is rocky and unpaved. Low profile vehicles are not recommended, but can be parked a couple 100 ft. away if you chose to walk-in to the site. 4WD or AWD vehicles is advisable. Located in the historic Whitlock Mining District and the Merced River Recreation Area, 34 miles (53 minutes) to Yosemite and 12 miles to the Historic town of Mariposa.
