The Sandbox Retreat is a 2.25 acre private parcel for those who love the freedom of outdoor camping and starlit nights. The focus of this desert retreat is the central recreational area making it both family friendly and great for small intimate groups. It features an area for horseshoes and bocce ball, a central firepit, a small BBQ, spool tables, 3 hammocks, a composting toilet, a showering stall, and scattered seating/areas to relax and enjoy a stunning sunrise or sunset. 

The Sandbox Retreat is ideal for those who enjoy mixing art with nature! You'll appreciate the close proximity to local fare and destinations. It's within 5 miles (10 min.) of lThe annual Joshua Tree Music Festivals, The Noah Purifoy Foundation, and the National Park entrance. You'll be away from the crowds without feeling too off the grid. Although the our location is somewhat secluded, campers are to be respectful of others and refrain from loud noises and parties. Please be aware, THIS IS CAMPING, NOT GLAMPING!!  ALL TRASH MUST BE PACKED OUT!!!!  a metal container is onsite to temporarily store your trash bags while you camp, to prevent visits from unwanted critters. WHEN YOU DEPART PLEASE, PACK OUT WHAT YOU AND YOUR GUESTS PACKED IN !!!   

All our guests are required to provide their own water and firewood. If guests decide to use the composting toilet on site they will be responsible for the removal of their own solid waste by placing it in the designated black composting bin located outside the facility.  

Come immerse yourself in the Mojave's captivating ecosystem. Unwind and recharge while gazing at the beauty of the monument in the distance.
