Shade of the Madrone Grove, California

We are located on land that was originally home of the Martis people and later the Nisenan Maidu.
Currently it is an 11 acre, working farm, orchard and nursery in the Sierra Nevada foothills, along the Golden Chain Highway, near historic, gold-rush-era towns and mining camps and the beautiful Yuba Rivers. This is also the home of the Felix Gillet Institute and the late organic farm advisor, Amigo Bob Cantisano.

Next to our beloved Madrone Grove, this room is largely independent of the main house with its own private entrance. It has a small kitchenette, hotplate, toaster oven, refrigerator, full size bed and its own deck/porch with table and chairs. During your visit, the best bathroom in the house will be yours only.

This is an 11 acre, working farm, orchard and nursery near historic, gold-rush-era towns and mining camps and the beautiful crystal clear waters of the Yuba River. Nearby, there are wonderful hiking trails, biking and swimming in the river. This is the home of the Felix Gillet Institute. We use only organic methods on our farm and nursery, including compost, cover crops and natural fertilizers.  There is a small grocery store nearby with health food options, gas station and our own local Ridge Café with great healthy meals. Our home is surrounded by nature. Here is a bit of heaven, amazing beauty and a refuge from busy city life.
