Went with my 13 year old son and dad. Super easy to find, Julian will send the GPS coordinates before your trip; if you enter those into google maps you won't have any problems, it takes you right there (it would be challenging otherwise, I think). Beautiful location on a farm pond, just a few minutes of the main highway coming west out of Westmoreland. One of the ranch hands (Andrew?) came by a couple times to ask if we needed anything, offered ice, potatoes, even offered to move the portapotty so it was more convenient (we did not take him up on that, but it was super nice to offer) etc; super friendly guy. Kid had an amazing time exploring the pond, fishing and swimming. I've heard that it can get windy, but we did not experience that. I think it's definitely worth checking the forecast specifically for wind before you go, I can see that it could go from pleasant to miserable pretty quickly if the wind kicked up. Kid is already bugging me to go back, so.....

We had such a peaceful and relaxing stay. The property has a beautiful pond, and we absolutely loved taking the kayaks out. The ducks were adorable. The area was quiet and perfect for unwinding. Our host Julian was incredibly responsive and made everything easy from start to finish.

What a magical little gem of a place to find in the middle of the desert. Had a beautiful night listening to the thousands of birds. Watching the sunset and sunrise was incredible. Smelling the fruit trees blew my mind. My dog and I did get to see the peacock watching over us through the night and were delighted that six great egrets nested in the tree right above where we were sleeping. My Merlin Bird app went absolutely nuts in this place!!
A porta-potty was delivered just as I was setting up and it was so clean, and very much appreciated.
If I had known how special this place was I probably would have carved out a little more time to stay longer.

Beautiful site, very private. There are two camp sites side by side but the area is wide enough to not be crowded. Camp site was nicely shaded and flat so it was easy to set up our tent. There were areas we could drive up and unpack the cars directly in to camp. The ad says no potable water but there is a hose with water which was convenient for other uses. Tubing was fun but we did find used fishing line wrapped around a branch near the bank. That was a little gross and dangerous. Definitely recommend river shoes. Our pups were happy running around and also enjoyed the water but there is a resident peacock that although gorgeous, does make a lot of noise. Our pups were curious so we had to keep an eye on them and make sure they stayed close to camp. At night, Mr. Peacock likes to perch on a tree near the restrooms so be prepared for the giant bird silhouette looming over you! It's beautiful! There were a lot of sounds at night, machines, vehicles, and wildlife. If you're a light sleeper, may not be easy to ignore but otherwise it was very relaxing. Julian was quick to respond to any questions. This is definitely our new favorite camp spot.

The site's description is precisely what it is! It is peaceful and isolated. Plus, there were trees that provided shade for us. The weather was perfect when we went. Please check the weather and prepare for a windy stay. Overall, it was an amazing experience!

It was an excellent place for group camping! The camp had great amenities such as a portal toilet (spotless!), tables and stools, water (not for drinking), and trash bins. Since the weather was projected to be very windy, it wasn’t! Which I was very grateful for! I would say the two campsites are not far apart. For reference, the space between the two campsites is four trucks parked next to each other. Since I came with a big group, I got both campsites for more privacy. It was only 35-40 minutes from Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Overall, the campsite was perfect!

Great clean place with a wonderful host, the pond is nice I would bring a float if you want to get in but wash yourself off with the hose if you do, peacock was really cool and the place was easy to get to.

My friends and I had a wonderful time camping at this site. It has an intimate, secluded feel that makes it seem like it’s just you and the stunning natural surroundings. Although we weren’t able to have a campfire the first night due to strong winds, we enjoyed a fantastic one the following evening. Firewood is available for a very reasonable price and lasted much longer than we expected. The site is also conveniently located within a short drive to Anza-Borrego, making it easy to access for our day hikes. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

The views were absolutely stunning! Absolutely no complaints. Super easy directions and perfect place to set up! I suggest bringing an inner tube or something to float on in the pond as this was easily my favorite part of the trip. Very clean and the property was awesome to explore. Plus there’s a gorgeous peacock that we loved to go search for as it is a bit shy but definitely lets you know it’s there! 100% recommend this sweet spot. Will be coming back!

This tent camp option, only 2hrs from San Diego, was exceptional! It was peaceful & serene with the pond! Best part was that there was a bathroom (port-a-potty), but serviced and clean for its purpose of use. Also, the fire pit was massive and awesome with numerous seating options at the West campsite. We even had a neighbor at the East campsite and they created privacy for themselves with the way they parked their vehicles, but I still feel as though the campsite was a decent enough distance away from us that we weren’t bothered at all. It’s located on a bunch of farm land so if you are looking for a lot to do right nearby your campsite…this may not be it. But, if you want to just chill and enjoy the outdoors, this was perfect! Also, Julian was very helpful in providing the proper details needed to arrive and was helpful and responsive if I had any questions. Thank you!

100% check the weather beforehand especially for wind.
Pond was cool, there are definitely fish in it caught 3 bass and a catfish. The freeway was a bit loud at night but other than that was really cool experience.
Fire pit was large, plenty of space for many chairs to sit around.
Porta potty was clean.
Overall was a fun experience.

For us, this site was perfect, but for some, it may be a bit funky. The site is shady, beautiful trees and birds everywhere, and the resident peacock was actually visiting us in a tree that evening. At the same time, the site was “rustic“, and some might find it needs some tidying up.

My wife and I have been camping at/near The Salton Sea for many years. Fast forward to 2025...we now have a three year old, a one year old and a camper.
Very happy with our stay. Julian was very communicative and the property was great. Easy to find, clearly marked and had no trouble accessing the site. The property is surrounded by a working farm, my kids loved roaming up and down the road playing with the dirt. Felt very safe on the property. We did not have any neighbors during our stay, but feel like the other site is far enough removed that we would have enjoyed it had we did.
We were able to get out and visit the State Park, took about an hour to get there. Drove down and had lunch at The Ski Inn in Bombay Beach before making it back to the campsite for the night. So, all are very accessible from this property.
Really appreciate staying here, we hope to be back soon!

Great spot to go camping. It's very easy to get to off the highway but it feels very secluded. Sunrise and sunsets are beautiful and very quiet at night. Wind can pick up in the area so be prepared or check the forecast before staying. I will definitely stay here again.

It’s a cute little spot. Trees made great shade. Water was beautiful. Perfect temperature for how hot it got. We enjoyed floating. I wouldn’t stay here if the spot next to us was rented. Too small of a space for my taste. The Porte potty was clean. That was a plus. The wind in the afternoon and all night long was a bit too much. We left a day early because of it. We would go back in the fall.

This spot was really great! The directions to get to the campsite are very clear and once you get off the main road, there are signs pointing you to the hipcamp. The pond was perfect for our dog who loves to swim and plenty of space for shade. There are two campsites side by side, East & West. They are very close to each other so as long as nobody else is there it is super private.

We had such a relaxing time at this campsite. We were mostly by ourselves the whole time (aside from our noisy peacock neighbors so bring earplugs if you think you will be unable to sleep).
Bring a fishing pole, my 13 y.o. learned to fish here! Perch. He loved it! Also bring a table, there are spools and logs to sit on, but we wished we had a table to help with cooking and eating. We were provided with a weber grill that can be used for cooking with charcoal and there is a firepit to start a fire. We brought firewood but there was also some supplied at the site.
We did have a helicopter spraying nearby potato fields, but hopefully that doesn’t happen often.
Overall we loved it!

This is hands down the best campsite on HipCamp. My friends and I have stayed 2x and love it every time. Very clean campsite with beautiful views especially during sun rise and sunset. The stargazing was out of this world and so trippy. The pond is clean and wonderful for kayaking, fishing and even taking a dip. The porta potty on the property was IMMACULATE and made camping more enjoyable. We truly enjoy the absolute privacy of the site and Julian is a wonderful host who accommodated us and gave great directions on how to access the site. I 1000% recommend staying here.

Overall, we had a good experience. There were a lot of flies, and we couldn't sit and relax in peace. We sat in our tent until the sun went down and the flies were gone. We caught both the sunrise and sunset, which was beautiful. There were a lot of sounds on the property, and it kept us awake at night; we got a windy night as well and were afraid we wouldn't last the night, but it calmed at some point.

Spot was sweet seeing the sunrise over the little pond and worked really well for us as a stop-over point. It was EXTREMELY windy while we were out there and really only just spent the night, so don't have much more to say about the area. Was nice to have access to a bathroom. A worker did wake us up with a bumping bass in his truck in the morning.

This place was very beautiful really close to the Salton Sea so there's a lot to visit. It had a great Pond for my dog to swim in and also lots of shade. There was a fire pit with plenty of available wood and very cute peacocks.

We loved camping on Julian’s land!! It’s a working farm but a beautiful piece of pond paradise amidst the agricultural area!! There were a lot of birds!! The port-a-potty was super clean and had a hand washing station! We also saw a resident beaver in the pond? Great shade under beautiful big trees (west spot). Great hosts!!! He greeted us the first day, then we felt we had the place to ourselves!! Julian communicated well and quickly responded to texts!! It was a highlight of our month long camp trip and would highly recommend!!!! Also a great gateway to Anza Borrego Park!!! We loved it!!!

This is a great spot. Campsite was clean and everything we expected it to be. Just a heads up, the east/west pond campsites are right next to each other. The description makes it sound like they would be separate, on either side of the pond, so if you are wanting privacy from other campers this might not be the right spot. We got lucky though and had the whole pond to ourselves, which was great! The peacocks were really cool!
