Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.

Do you need a place to stay that is close to everything but feels far away? Do you have a 4x4? Can your 4x4 pull a self contained vehicle such as a Pop-Up Trailer or RV? The closest neighbors are 1/2 mile away. This is vacant land, in fact its a mountain. The elevation at the base is 1000’ above sea level….. At the top the elevation is 2,600’ above sea level.Rise above the crowd. 2600 feet to be precise. 360* views include 2 lakes, urban sprawl and nature preserve. Hike, 4x4, Mountain Bike to your hearts content. Or just relax, campfire cook and enjoy the silence above it all. Complete privacy is yours. Great overnight spot if you want to enjoy Temecula. You must pack in and pack out everything you need including water. Pets are welcome however you must be aware of coyotes and protect your pet. Spring time brings fields of California Poppies, sage and other wild flowers. Summer is hot and dry. Winter is cool sometimes rainy which brings clear skies and spectacular views.

Beautiful site for sure! Woke up to amazing views of both Lake Matthew's and Elsinore. Great dispersed site. 4x4 needed to reach the site, but fun getting there!

Book it! You won’t regret it!

The land is very off-grid and we had a lovely time out in nature. Only two dirt bikers came by our site during our stay, one stopped to chat and was friendly and soon after was on his way. Most of the dirt biking is way off in the distance. The views from this site were incredible! You can see two lakes, snowy mountains, and gorgeous green rolling hills. Though it is dispersed (no restrooms) it was the exact camping experience we were hoping for. The driveway up is definitely intimidating but is certainly doable in 4x4 as the host put in her description. Would recommend to all my friends with trucks and 4WD.

Panoramic view mountain campsite!

Thank you for a great stay at the top of your mountain! We really enjoyed the views both during the day and the nighttime. You get a panoramic view from the top that covers both lake Matthews and lake Elsinore. It’s quite spectacular and one of the prettiest camp sites I’ve stayed at! We stayed on March 17-19th and really enjoyed the wild flower blooms right on the property. You can also walk or drive to the entire preserve for even more! One piece of advice I’d give future campers is that some of the 4x4 trials are pretty narrow if you are in a full size truck. After the rains that came the week before our stay, the camber on some of them slopes off to a big drop off around Estelle mountain. We had to back down about half a mile as it became to sketchy for us! It was an adventure for sure. Others look more do-able. Just do a bit of research on the trails before you go. There are certainly a lot of coyotes around, and you can hear them howl! All part of the charm of the site for us:) Thanks for a great stay!
