Magical 6 acre permaculture ranch just a few minutes to town, beaches and restaurants. Take a bath under a clear night sky, enjoy the morning birdsong and take a stroll on or off the property. We have free ranging chickens, a hidden spring surrounded by two creeks and wild plums. Happy Valley is a secret little gem of Santa Cruz. Plenty of space for relaxing, and amazing location for both convenience and adventures. (2 of the 3 sites have the tubs please read individual descriptions to find out if the one you chose has one)

The Bungalow
Pretty spot but the water didn’t work even though it said it did and then the host didn’t answer when we tried to text them about it. Also there were no utensils or bowls even though it said there were on the site.

The Bungalow
Peaceful weekend in the bungalow :)
My partner and I had such a beautiful and peaceful time at the Hidden Springs Ranch in their Bungalow site. The bungalow itself was super cozy with 2 twin beds pushed together to make a mega bed! Haha. The bed came with storage and tons of extra blankets! There was a side table and chair next to the bed with outlets underneath. There was a sink to wash hands and dishes, a good sized mini fridge, plenty of outlets, and a space heater with wheels! There isn’t any service but the wifi they provide worked like a dream and helped us unplug for the weekend. The outside of the bungalow has a flushable toilet, an outdoor shower (only hot or only cold, but they’re very clear about that in the description!), an outdoor sauna, a fire pit, and plenty of chairs! Location? Oh couldn’t be better! A 10 minute drive town and a few minute drive to The Mystery Spot! The trickiest part is finding it initially, but nothing to stress about at all (take this with a grain of salt because we didn’t check the map provided to us by Patricia and Ezra) Experience overall was 10/10! Simple check in and check out. They’re very respectful of your space while being welcoming and kind. Patricia dropped us off a French press (there was some ground coffee in the bungalow!) We got to chat with Ezra and John Bear before we left. Cannot wait to come back!

Campsite with Soaking Tub - Site 1
We couldn’t make it. It would’ve been nice to have contact sooner and in a more personal way. We were caught in a storm on the way. Just disappointed that it wasn’t handled differently.

Campsite with Soaking Tub - Site 1
Holiday getaway
A beautiful, quiet destination just a few miles from Santa Cruz. It was the perfect weekend getaway with an outdoor tub and lots of space to explore. The hosts were incredibly kind and gave us a nice tour of the property. Will definitely come back for another visit.

Large Charming Campsite - Site 3
A place to sleep
The site reserved for us had another van and camper parked in it. Not a huge deal but we had to back into a narrow spot between two buildings to settle in. The hot water for the very outdoor shower wasn’t working. Portable toilet for the bathroom. Doesn’t feel worth $65 a night to me.

Large Charming Campsite - Site 3
Way overpriced
Good location close to town, but way overpriced for what the amenities were. Porta potty, outdoor shower that was full of leaves, potable water was unavailable at one point. The camp site could be improved with an enclosed/indoor space with sink, shower, and toilet, as well as some more regular cleaning up. There were some broken or dirty items strewn about (for example, a rotting box of fruit next to the sink that was there our entire stay). Also the outdoor shower did not draw enough water to trigger the on-demand water heater to turn on; we eventually figured out we needed to turn the hot water on the sink on at the same time to get it to turn on. Otherwise we would have had ice cold showers. It looks like the pipes were 3/4" but it had a low-flow shower head, so maybe changing to a higher flow shower head would solve the issue. Also no privacy in the shower, there was a curtain in front but nothing for privacy in the back and there was a guy working at the site behind the shower when I needed to use it.
