El Mirage Dry Lake OHV Area

Located just outside of Los Angeles County in the Mojave Desert, El Mirage Lake truly lives up to its name. This dry lakebed often boasts spectacular views and mindbending mirages across what used to be a six-mile-wide lake. Nowadays, El Mirage Lake is used as an OHV or off-highway vehicle recreation area. From ultralight aircraft, gyrocopters, and land-yachts, to full-size airplanes, this large swath of land is perfect for aircraft enthusiasts.
