Our property has been in business in one way or another for over 70 years. The stick built cabins are pre 1950's and no one really knows for sure how old they truly are. We are located on Fort Creek named after the creek that ran through Fort Klamath. Fort Creek is a beautiful 30' wide meandering creek that runs the length of the property north to south. We offer free use of our Old Town Canoes to paddle along it's extent and on up creek to a beaver damn. There is a fun hiking trail that runs over two bridges that span the creek, one covered and one floating. We also offer free catch and release fishing, there are Rainbow and Brown Trout in our waters. Fort Klamath is the birthplace and home of the US Army 1st Cavalry and our property is located on the the Forts Southeastern grounds. We are 9 miles from the southern border of the National Park and 23 miles from the southern Rim and Rim Village.

Fast forward a few years, and 40 acres next door with an abandoned house on the canyon ridge went up for sale. We decided to purchase it and start a homestead there. That 40 acres where we now live was badly abused, and we have been in the process of cleaning up and restoring it. Fortunate for you, the land surrounding the Snug Shack was never abused and is still pristine and beautiful. Keep in mind that you may encounter bugs, coyotes, deer, and some nearby farming activity during your stay. Our communal camping area features a level ground, fire pit, potable water spigot, portable toilet, picnic tables, and a fenced dog run (available upon request). Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be leashed or kenneled on the property—feel free to let them off-leash on the adjacent public lands. Owners are available to provide information and maps for hiking and outdoor recreation activities. Enjoy stunning views of Mount Shasta from your campsite, with seasonally flooded fields adding to the picturesque scenery. You're also welcome to explore the hills nearby, offering even more breathtaking vistas to discover.

Owl Creek Cabin Mountain Getaway

Owl Creek Cabin is a secluded mountain getaway in the Southern Cascades east of Ashland Oregon. It's a perfect place for a creative retreat where solos or couples can leave the distractions of their everyday world behind. You'll be greeted when you arrive, walk a short trail to the cabin, and be shown how to use some of its features such as the outdoor firepit, grill, and attic sleeping loft. In snow season (December to May) you'll need all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive with all-weather tires. The roads and driveway to the cabin are plowed and kept in good shape but there will be packed snow on the road at our elevation - 4600 feet. Please arrive by 8 pm. Enjoy a glass of wine or mug of cocoa around the fire pit (NOTE: September through May we provide a propane fire pit), a great way to unwind, relax and appreciate the nature around you. The cabin is stocked with dishes, and a mini kitchen with a toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator, electric kettle, and coffeemaker. A picnic table and gas grill with a skillet and saucepan allow outside cooking and dining. The outdoor soaking tub is open June thru Oct. The cabin is equipped for comfort and is surrounded by forestland with miles of trails. Nearby Howard Prairie Lake and Lake of the Woods offer boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing with hiking trails around. It’s a scenic drive to beautiful Lake of the Woods on the way to Crater Lake National Park. Situated on five wooded acres, the cabin is next to a seasonal creek and adjacent to open BLM forested lands. You can hike out the door or drive 10 miles to catch the Pacific Crest Trail, or the trailhead to Grizzly Peak with views of the Rogue Valley and the Siskiyou Mountains. Trail maps are provided. Welcome to Juniper Spur Ranch! Directions: GPS Juniper Valley Spur....this is a short culdesac road with a road sign at the entrance off Juniper Valley Drive. There is a green pipe rail gate at the end. This gate has a combination lock. You will receive the current combination code 2 days before your arrival. If you are turning onto a dirt road without a sign....you are on the wrong road. Juniper Valley Spur is my short culdesac road with a green pipe rail gate at the end. We have 3 RV sites available for campers to book. Please note that we do not have RV hookups for any of the sites. You will be parking on loose gravel and the sites are flat. We can accommodate most RVs/trailers, if you are uncertain about the size just send me a message. There is a portapotty in the hay barn cleaned regularly and a water spigot for non-potable water uses or for a quick outdoor shower with a handheld spritzer. It is not enclosed so you will need to be discreet. Pets are allowed at campsites #2 and #3 only. These campsites are farthest from the horses and dogs. Please keep dogs on leash at all times. Our property offers a beautiful view of Mount Shasta. Nature lovers, extreme sports enthusiasts, family vacationers and retirees, can all enjoy the vast recreational opportunities this area has to offer. Lake Siskiyou is about 20 miles south and offers a wonderful 7-mile hiking trail around the entire lake. Bring your horses too. I have a couple of electric-fenced paddocks for visitors.
