7 acres hosted by Lianne S.
1 lodging site
We have seven acres of partly wooded land along the Illinois River. There are a few swimming holes that we enjoy. We also tent out a treehouse, so guests share the woods and river when they are rented at the same time. There are two blueberries fields (fruit is in season during June/July). We also have peacocks.Enjoy camping the glamping way - with the tent already set up and a bed ready for you to climb into at night. We have an electric blanket for cooler nights and there is also a propane heater.
Inside the tent you will find a mini fridge as well as a coffee maker with single serve pods of coffee. We provide you with drinking water. There are a couple lamps with outlets to charge your devices. However, there is no wi-fi. We hope you use this time to unplug and unwind.
On the deck is an outdoor table and chairs and lounge seating. There is a propane grill for you to prepare your food on (please donate what you feel is appropriate for your usage of our propane tank). Grilling utensils are provided. You may also build a fire in the fire pit. We sell firewood for $1/pc. Please do not leave any fire unattended.
There are tiki torches around the deck. (Please bring your own fuel.) There are also strands of lights above the deck you may plug in for lighting at night.
During warmer weather, we also have tubes for you to float on the river and beach towels for you to dry off with. There are a couple hammocks for your enjoyment as well.
A few yards away from the tent is the bathroom facility. We provide towels and basic toiletries including soap, shampoo, and conditioner as well as dish detergent. The toilet is a compost toilet. After use, scoop some sawdust/peat moss onto the bucket. The water in the faucet and shower is filtered from our collection tank using solar power. Please do not drink it but just use it for your washing needs. The shower has a water heater attached.
In the summer, be prepared with bug spray of your choice (mosquitos and ticks) and sunscreen if you plan to spend time in the river where there is less shade.
The campsite is a short but slightly steep 3-4 minute walk from the parking area into the woods. Please let us know if you need any assistance.
We also rent out a treehouse in the woods, so the woods and river are shared by both guests. The bathroom facility and firepit is just for the tent guest.
