Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
This property is located in the picturesque Paterson Valley and offers great views north towards the famous Barrington Tops. Picturesque country detour northbound from Sydney south via greater Maitland. Williams, Paterson rivers. https://www.visitnsw.com/destinations/hunter/barrington-tops/dungog/attractions/allyn-river-rainforest-walk Steep incline. Not suitable for caravans. The camping area is right near the gate. Drive in, reverse back? The site is sloped down the hill facing North. It's a great base camp with plenty to explore in the area. It is the gateway to Lostock Dam, Allyn River, Dungog and surrounds. The quaint village of Vacy is up the road, with local shops and cafes. There is a great old school country pub, The Farmers Hotel, with all the history, culture, and attractions of one of the first European-settled valleys in NSW. 10min from Tocal Homestead. A short drive to the famous Hunter Valley region.You will need to be self-contained regarding amenities and water. Park cars, campers, or vans on level ground. You can pitch tents on the cleared grassy area. Campfires are permitted and a designated fire pit is provided. Do not light fires between 31 October and 31 March however due to fire restrictions. Do not cut any wood. Please take all your rubbish with you and respect our neighbours. You can walk down to the dam, swim at your own risk. Please mind your step as there can be hidden holes and rocks. Enjoy the wallabies, and birds, and be respectful of all wildlife in the area. Magnificent views.
