Toilet seat setup. Jorge made sure it was clean! Plenty of space to park whatever vehicle you have. Jorge made it pretty easy to drive around the camping area!

Rainbow Ranch, Petrified Forest

My wife and I purchased this land in 2021, and have been living here full-time off grid in our RV. We have 2 children, dogs, and chickens, with prospects of more animals in the future. We named it Rainbow Ranch... for multiple reasons, the main one being for the tie dyes my wife makes and sells. We were blessed with a huge rainbow in the sky the first day we moved here, as seen in the photos. Rainbows are a common occurrence here, and the Painted Desert, nearby is much like a rainbow as well. Join us here at Rainbow Ranch and let your True Colors shine, and add to our beautiful rainbow!

Camped in a 20 ft travel trailer at Rainbow Ranch with friends, Oct 2022.

    It was okay

Lovely spot to camp. So close to the Petrified Forest National Park. Tha driveway in is need of repair. After a small rain our 4 wheel drive had a hard time getting out. Very slippery and rutted.

Camped in a 20 ft campervan at Rainbow Ranch with pets, Oct 2022.

    Doesn't recommend

Unfortunately we could not access the property. The road had been washed out by rain. The alternative route had thick tire ruts and mud. Our 4WD vehicle struggled so we didn’t risk the campervan getting stuck. The host didn’t seem to have a solution for us so we had to drive 25 miles to find a campsite for the night.

Camped at Sunshine Tent at Rainbow Ranch with kids, Oct 2022.

    It was okay

Overall it was a really nice tent and location, downsides were the road to get there, parts were washed out and it was a challenge! The other drawback we found was the uncovered bucket toilet. The outhouse set up was really pretty well done except that it rained and it had no roof so we dealt with wet toilet paper and rain when we used it. I think a few more thoughtful touches would make all the difference. We also added on wood and eggs and never did receive either which was sad.
