Stunning view
There's the most stunning view we've seen so far at the campsite. The toilets are pretty raw, but usable. There's a lovely dog and cat that love petting ❤️

Crazy, drunk and rude.
We had to drive 6 hours and we were 30 minutes late for reason out of our control. The owner has many control freak rules and one is to arrive 1 hours before sunset. On site it wasn’t clear where to report so we got near the house. A man appears and we soon found that he was drunk with a strong smell of alcool. He could hardly speak and his first words were “you are f… late”. He added that another rule is to never approach his house. He ask us to leave and we were very lucky to find another place even if we were late. Stay away from there, there are many other nice and friendly RV campsites close.

Campsite was super quiet since we were the only ones there. The owner’s dog was very friendly and they also offered to sell us some firewood. The shower wasn’t working when we went but we didn’t need it anyways. Very close to the park and easy to find if you follow instructions.

My team booked last minute and came in late at night in the dark on our way to Moab. Krissie welcomed us and provided details on the listing. We had to leave early in the morning as part of our journey but as the sun was rising we could see the sun rays highlighting the near by rock mounds.

Stars, frybread, hot shower
This site was in a great location if you are coming to Monument Valley. Just a short drive to the visitors’ center. It has a fire pit, picnic table, shelter, outhouse and an on-demand hot water outdoor shower—which we used! Krissie and her grandma were so welcoming and checked in on us several times. Grandma sold us earrings and hot fry bread. Both shared knowledge about the area, including a the names of all the monuments and what they, as Diné, would be doing during their eclipse ceremonies. At night we could hear their relatives singing and drumming in their hogan. Incredible night time sky. Highly recommend.

Not sure it exists
I couldn't find the camp and nobody answered my call. I asked at the nearby vistor centre and nobody had heard of Chief's campsite. There was also no large white sign with green letters. And with no other campgrounds with vacancy I had to bail on the area on drive to Page, Arizona a few hours away.
