We moved to Alaska in 2020 and fell in love with the Palmer area. As a family, we felt that being in the countryside was the best place to raise our children, which is why we chose this property. After a friend of ours parked her camper here for a few weeks, we decided to try renting out the spot to others visiting Alaska. 2022 is our first year hosting this site. We are a young family always looking for ways to earn some extra income. We are a family-friendly property. Our property's location is between Palmer and Wasilla Alaska. We are in a quiet neighborhood within a mile of four separate lakes. Finger Lake State Park is close by and is the starting point for the 7-mile canoe trail that takes you through a number of lakes and streams in the area. We are 20 miles from the top of Hatchers Pass/ Independence Mine State recreation area where you can pan for gold and go on many different hikes. This property has the best of being close to the city but is still far enough away to feel like you are deeper in the woods than you are.We have a single parking area for an RV with a grassy yard area next to it where you can sit back and enjoy nature. Wild birds frequently visit the bird feeders on the property. We also have the occasional moose and other woodland wildlife frequently wonders through the yard. Your campsite is tucked in right by the house but is very private. You are surrounded by trees on 3 sides of your campsite, and the side of the house on the 4th.

RV Parking Spot near Finger Lake

Super quiet spot, easy to find and a lovely family there to greet you when you arrive. So much better than an RV park!

RV Parking Spot near Finger Lake

What a great stay!

We loved staying in our 32ft camper at Heather and Derek’s place as a family of four. Our kids are ages eight and ten. It felt super private, quiet, and safe. It was nice to have the view of the forest through our windows and have a section of grassed yard to ourselves. I loved how level the parking spot was too. We didn’t hear any traffic sounds or see any vehicles when we went on our evening walk around the neighborhood. Derek and Heather showed great respect for our privacy but we’re right there when we had a question or needed anything. They may be the kindest couple I have ever met! It was really nice to have the electricity hookups as well. I liked that they had another large section of their yard on the other side of their house they used which made it feel like we had the section we were in all to ourselves. I was surprised it was more quiet and private than a camp ground and we still had a view of the forest! Downtown Palmer is less than 10 minutes away, there is a grocery store a few minutes away, and there is a big beautiful family friendly lake about a mile away and Heather and Derek rent stand up paddle boards too-including everything you need to have a blast with them on the lake, which was a huge bonus! Couldn’t of asked for a better place to stay!
