Unique and peaceful Lost Sierra retreat within feet of Big Grizzly Creek. 5 minutes from Lake Davis. Minutes from Grizzly Ranch Golf Club. 1 hour from Reno, and 2.5 hours from Sacramento. Nestled among towering trees and serene natural surroundings, The Retreat at Big Grizzly Creek is a tranquil haven located within feet of a gently flowing creek. As you enter the campsite, the refreshing sound of water trickling over smooth rocks immediately captures your attention, creating a symphony of nature's melodies. The Retreat is located within minutes of the small railroad town of Portola, CA, 5 minutes from the boat launch at Lake Davis, and a couple of minutes from the public golf course, Grizzly Ranch. The property the campsite is on is over 3 acres with the creek being the western border. The property has numerous overlooks of the creek and surrounding fauna with a short hike. Currently, I am building a trail and a sitting area over the most perfect view atop a rock outcropping, perfect for sipping coffee in the morning or beer. No judgment here! We have big plans for this little piece of the earth we own and are excited the share it with you.Nestled among towering trees and serene natural surroundings, The Retreat at Big Grizzly Creek is a tranquil haven located within feet of a gently flowing creek. Site Guidelines Now for the guidelines and rules: DO NOT USE ANY MAPPING SERVICE DIRECTIONS TO THE SITE!! You will not make it to the site and will be trespassing on others' land. Use only the directions I give once you reserve the site. There is only available parking for one vehicle only. Please be mindful of the neighbors and don't block any roads or gates. This campsite is primitive, meaning there is no running water. Drinking water will be provided in the 5-gallon jug and one or two 30-gallon barrels with a pump to refill depending on your length of stay. Metal trash cans will be provided and will be in the general vicinity of the tent. The access to the campsite will be by a single-lane dirt road which can be muddy at times and will have landowner traffic coming both ways. There are some rocky sections, but if my neighbor can drive her Lexus down there, most any cars will make it. This is a private road with private property, please be mindful of neighbors and keep your speed to 10 mph or lower to keep the dust at a minimum. The campsite is in a wildfire-prone area and all burning rules will be followed. Meaning, the fire pit may not always be available. A propane fire pit will be provided during that time. No smoking (including vape) inside the tent or within its general area. A proper outhouse with a composting toilet is in the works and should be ready in late summer of 2023. Until then, a toilet with toilet paper and a portable pop-up will be provided. This a quiet and relaxing campsite, not a party site. Please, no more than 4 people without permission from the owner.
