Brenda’s place was quite nice. It was very quiet and tucked away nicely on her property to create good privacy! Brenda was a very gracious host and offered wonderful insight to the area. One of the things we liked best was her place was at most thirty minutes from the beach and there were copious amounts of backroads to quickly get you to anything of interest while avoiding “Beach Traffic”. 11 miles away down a back road that not a soul was on was DogFish Head Brewery which was a great tour and adventure. We also visited a very nice winery that was also less than 20 minutes away. We will definitely come back.

I'm so glad you were able to see some of the local attractions. There are many, many more. Did you get to enjoy the sushi? Could not anticipate the severe windstorm on Thursday afternoon, but the evening wasn't a complete bust. The sunset was beautiful. I'm looking into extending the small cement pad and making it longer and wider. Hope your trip south was uneventful. Hope you do well on your upcoming tests!!

Brenda was most helpful, especially giving us a tip to use Wayze to get through Washington DC bridge traffic and using her hose to fill our tank after ours dragged on the pavement. Nice private spot behind the small barn, easy drive-around so no backing required. Peaceful. And Lightning the horse is extremely sociable!

So glad to meet you both, even though it was only upon checking in. I'm so glad to stopped here at Deer Forest Hideaway to enjoy our getaway spot. I hope you enjoy the rest of your adventure along the East Coast and hope you liked Assateague Island National Seashore park and the ponies....

So glad to have met you - only wish my little great grandson had a chance to meet you as he loves bugs, probably as much as you do. Stay safe on your travels south and have great holidays!!

Beautiful farm getaway

Brenda and her family are delightful, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Despite arriving late, she graciously came out to meet us and give a great rundown of her property and the site. The farm and horses are charming, and Brenda’s fresh eggs are delicious. A wonderful place to stay slightly off the beaten path. And if you’re overconfident with your driving capabilities and believe your RV can’t get stuck in the mud with you behind the wheel, her family is there to help you out!

Scott was a very caution driver of their RV and being courteous of my grassy area. I am taking several suggestion to make the "soft" areas more friendly for RV traffic by adding soil which will pack down to accommodate all weights of RVs. There will be less grass for me to cut, but make it much easier for Hipcampers to navigate the site!!!

Brenda was a lovely host. We purchased the farm fresh eggs, collected from her nearby family's farm, and they were great.

Her property is surrounded by trees/woods and feels very private. Horse paddock is next to the camping area, so you can wake up to watch her three horses (including one miniature!).

Camping area is behind her garage/barn, which is opposite her home in her back yard. There is one tent site and one RV site. Concrete pad was big enough to hold our 28.5 foot travel trailer with about 2 feet of extra room. It is a tight turn from driveway to pad behind garage/barn, but definitely doable. Only concern was that there is grass between the driveway and the concrete pad, which isn't necessarily a problem unless you arrive during a daylong downpour like we did. Brenda was unconcerned for her yard and very helpful/kind, but it did cause a bit of a mud situation.

Erica and hubby were so patient while trying to get RV situated on the cement pad. After several attempts, he finally got it where they wanted it. I'm certainly not worried about the grass. It will all be gone after some heavy traffic. I sure hope your two boys enjoyed their adventure. I'm so glad you liked the eggs. Fresh eggs are so delicious and even better when fixed over a campfire!! Thanks so much for the review!!

We unfortunately had a family/dog emergency and had to cancel our trip. We gave more than 24hrs notice, called and emailed, but never heard a response back about cancellation policy or a refund/partial refund. Very disappointed.

Hipcamper brenda
Response from brenda, the Host, on October 25th, 2020

Since Caitie DID NOT make a reservation, there was NOTHING to refund... Caitie should reseach which campground she made a reservation for and ask for a refund there, since it was definitely not here! She asked several vague questions, but never booked a site!! I have often rescheduled campers who have had family or even dog emergencies. This is an RV site, not a tent camping site.

Brenda was an excellent host. Very sweet, accommodating, and helpful. For 3 extra dollars we got a dozen eggs. Her property is a small horse farm so if you have horses she welcomes you. She’s conveniently located close to the Delaware shoreline so beaches are accessible. Also close by is the Maryland border. Her property borders Redden state park and also driving distance away is trap pond park which is an awesome biking situation. Happy camping hip campers!!
