We are a Nature Retreat bordering Nature Conservancy land along a tributary and up and down the Rappahannock River. You can hike along the stream down to the river and up and down the river. You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed. You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is a reservoir nearby as well. We are in the midst of the suburbs not far from Fredericksburg, which has some great historic and community places of interest. Our facilities are private and we only rent to one or 2 guests at a time. You can glamp in a trailer, or car camp in a nice campground with power and water or you can go primitive and pack in. All spaces include access to our classical 11 circuit labyrinth and backyard gardens where you can enjoy zen rock garden and other contemplative nature crafts. There are some great extra's here as well including an outdoor jacuzzi and indoor infrared sauna and massage chair. These spa features are another great way to get your zen on here. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is a reservoir nearby as well. We are in the midst of the suburbs not far from Fredericksburg, which has some great historic and community places of interest. Our facilities are private and we only rent to one or 2 guests at a time. You can glamp in a trailer, or car camp in a nice campground with power and water or you can go primitive and pack in. All spaces include access to our classical 11 circuit labyrinth and backyard gardens where you can enjoy zen rock garden and other contemplative nature crafts. There are some great extra's here as well including an outdoor jacuzzi and indoor infrared sauna and massage chair. These spa features are another great way to get your zen on here. I offer Forest Bathing and individual retreat support sessions, an quarterly sweat lodge and also vision quest support if people would like to experience a solo nature immersion feast.

My husband, myself, our kids and grandkids all met up at this amazing farm just overnight for a wonderful and rare campfire get together, but wished we had stayed longer. The grandkids loved all the animals but especially Zeus, the big, super sweet dog of the property! The expansive property accommodates RVs well with plenty of space to be private yet camp amongst the animals. Our camp host greeted us, got us set up with power, and told us all about the workings of the farm and all that was available to us on the property. These extras that you don’t normally get at most Hipcamp properties was really cool! A barn with a restroom and gathering area where chili was available the night we were there along with many homemade and local goodies like shortbread cookies, honey, dried lavender sachets and produce for purchase. We happily donated a small amount toward taking care of the rescued animals on the farm. A couple of our kids and their families live in the area so we will definitely be back! Thanks Juanita it was a pleasure!!

Overall a decent stay. The staff at the brewery were confused about check in but we got it sorted out. It was in the colder season so we had a lot of privacy which was really nice. We enjoyed the ability to hang at the brewery/vineyard with other campers and we appreciated bathrooms available after hours. The butter beer and white wine hot apple cider were just what we needed that chilly night. Would stay again but my only complaint was it was hard to find a flat spot to set up. We found a decently flat spot but since we were sleeping directly on a mat on the ground we were shifting/sliding all night- prob would’ve been fine for a RV camper though.

This is a beautiful place with lots of space. We didn't have time to try the wines, but the beer at 1781 brewing (on the property) was excellent. Staff that we interacted with was very friendly. There are horses, chickens, geese and possibly cattle on the property, along with a beautiful pond. Although you can hear the truck traffic on Rt 3, it's not too bad. We had a quiet night to ourselves and the sunrise over the the grapevines was just extra.

Derek, the owner, is always incredibly accommodating and goes above and beyond to make sure guests have everything they need. Beautiful, peaceful location with an incredibly friendly and responsive host! Getting to say hi to the very friendly dogs and kitten was a definite plus. Plenty of room to set up camp while still being a stone's throw away from the barn with a restroom & running water. All in all a tremendous experience!

7 nights at Comus Sky Farm
Juanita's horse farm has plenty of room for RV and tent campers. I enjoyed the quiet country feel, the animals (her sweet dogs, the ducks and geese and the neighbors horse), and the solitude of walking her trails surrounded by autumn trees. The camp hosts are absolutely fantastic. Friendly, accommodating, and generous. They made me feel like family. The Comus Inn restaurant is a hidden jewel. There are lots of nearby areas to explore, breweries and wineries to sample, and the trails of Sugarloaf mountain are worth your time. I plan to return next year at this time.

This was a beautiful space and we had a great time. I’d recommend renting both sites. We loved walking to the river. The facilities were clean and a step up from the primitive camping we were expecting.

Judi and Barry are the most gracious hosts we have come across on our Hipcamp endeavors. They went far an above with their accommodation's. We would purposely go out of our way to stay with them again if we were in their location.

Darlene's land was a perfect hip camp. Usually my dogs and I hit the hay at nightfall, but Darlene's camp has an electric pole with a light, a screened tent with a table and chair, and an extra electric plug (recharge phones) - it was private and serene - plus Darlene was a FANTASTIC communicator, who meets you there to show you how the compostable toilet works, where to get firewood, etc. - then leaves you your privacy. Only a small disclaimer for travelers with dogs, IF you have a reactive dog (as one of mine is) there is quite a bit of wildlife noise in the woods. Highly recommend this hipcamp.

Loved the farm so much it was hard to leave. I had to keep extending my stay to check out more of the area. It was very peaceful and everyone was incredibly nice. Hate to let people know because im sure it will be full up when I try to come back, but it is a great place to go.
