We are within an hour of Gettysburg and within an hour and a half of DC if you're planning a day trip. We have a prime central location with close access to so many things to do. This beautiful property is nestled in a valley between Elk Ridge and South Mountain with incredible sunrises, sunsets and starlit night skies. Walk out to the fishing pond, or follow the trails around the pastures to meet the cattle grazing. We have Scottish Highlands and Black Angus grazing as well as Alpacas. We also have beautiful peacocks on the property. We are a working farm so expect to see tractors and you may even see us baling hay or tending to the cattle. You may smell some animal smells which we work at keeping to a minimum but again, we are a working farm. It’s a true farm experience. Also, please keep in mind that during warm weather you may encounter some bugs. Gnats and flies are always a possibility and of course at times they can be worse than others. That can always be a possibility when camping or being outdoors. Bring bug spray, citronella and anything else to help with insects. If you stay by the pond you may hear frogs which personally I enjoy hearing but some may not. Consider bringing a generator and run a fan if you think the sound might bother you or some way to block sounds. We enjoy talking to our guests so feel free to stop us for a chat. At the RV sites you have 30 and 50 amp power as well as water. All the water spickets are potable and drinkable. Please be aware that some may not have great cell service and as noted in the amenity section we do not have WiFi at any of the sites yet. It is something we are looking into for the future. If something is urgent you should be able to pick up WiFi near the tenant house and a password can be provided for you to try.

Shower hours are 8 am- to 8 pm. The shower has hot and cold running water . You can drive to the shower if you need to. - RESPONSE TIME - This is a working herb farm/ sanctuary and we so do not always have our phones on us. We will make every effort to respond to you within a few hours. Also, please keep in mind that during warm weather you may encounter some bugs. Gnats and flies are always a possibility and of course at times they can be worse than others. That can always be a possibility when camping or being outdoors. Bring bug spray, citronella and anything else to help with insects. If you stay by the pond you may hear frogs which personally I enjoy hearing but some may not. Consider bringing a generator and run a fan if you think the sound might bother you or some way to block sounds. We enjoy talking to our guests so feel free to stop us for a chat. At the RV sites you have 30 and 50 amp power as well as water. All the water spickets are potable and drinkable. Please be aware that some may not have great cell service and as noted in the amenity section we do not have WiFi at any of the sites yet. It is something we are looking into for the future. The cabin was womderful. It had everything we needed for our overnight stay, including heat, coffee press, some water, fun games annd books, and a clean outhouse just a few steps away. We enjoyed a campfire by the river, and loved being so close to Shepherdstown ~1.5 miles away. I hope to return in the warmer seasons!

The property was very nice for my overnight pit stop and I'm sure it would be enjoyable for a longer stay. I was a little confused of where to go when entering the property but once I found the pond I was comfortable knowing I was in the right place. The 1.5 mile stretch of road off the main road is a little tight if you're full legal width but that is not a reason not to stay here, just a heads up, and no fault of the host.

He’s quickly responsive to all of our questions and needs. He absolutely goes above and beyond to make the stay special and especially to find ways to make it really fun for our kids. This was a perfect camp site!! Went with my family & took our two dogs. The dogs had a blast, plenty of space while still having some fencing around to keep them from being too crazy. It was private and the stars were great. Host was wonderful, everything was easy to find, and the bathroom was clean. It was daddy long legs galore but personally if i had to pick one bug to see a bunch it would be them. Harmless and on items more than people. Overall a great trip!!

We spent two nights at #3. It is very well situated in regards to the trail and house. We forgot a pot for coffee and were able to borrow from the house, which we are grateful for. We went 5 min down the road into Bluemont for a visit to the general store and community playground. Great woods, wonderful campfire, kids (6 & 8) had a blast!

We tent-camped at Peaceful Pond for the second year in a row with my two sons (14 and 11) and our dog, and it was exactly the reset we needed. We’re from right outside DC, so the quiet out here felt almost unreal. Aside from the occasional cow mooing or dog barking , it was just us and the farm. The best part was the simple stuff: morning coffee by the pond, hanging around the fire, making s’mores, and having the kind of deeper conversations you only get when everyone’s finally off their screens. It’s the kind of place that slows you down without trying. Highly recommend for anyone looking for calm, space, and an easy, comfortable spot to camp.

These sites are located at the Bear's Den Center along the AT in Virginia. Super cool location, and you can walk to a large brewery/restaurant within 15 minutes. I'd definitely camp here again. Fair warning: while the tent sites are quite large, they are all arranged in a circle. If any of the sites are rambunctious, you will hear it. Didn't bother, but don't come here expecting to be alone.

Our property was built with the unique, adventurous, down to earth, out of box, nature loving traveler in mind. Our property has untraditional and outdoorsy lodging elements. If you have a more city, hotel or traditional lodging preference, we invite you to seek other accommodation options in the area as that is not the target market for an enjoyable stay at the silo. *We have a black camper on the property for a limited time. No one stays in the camper and it does not effect the silo in anyway
