Plus the Snider's old house and barn next door are being renovated by the new owners! Since 2013, we have brought in water and electricity to the land, built fences, a house and several barns. We have a flock of chickens, a bunch of loud, nosey Nubian dairy goats, 2 cats and 2 dogs. We farm organic vegetables, and have planted some fruit trees. We are committed to conservation of our land and the wildlife that call it home, and are working to restore our wildflower meadow (location of the campsite) to original prairie state. Covering a surface area of a little under 380 acres, this state park features a 38,000-acre reservoir where visitors can practice a vast array of water sports and recreational activities including boat and pier fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing. Lake Tawakoni State Park is located about 30 miles northeast of downtown Kaufman and can be reached in less than 40 minutes by car along routes US-80 and FM-2728. Visitors are required to pay a $5 daily usage fee, while those aged 12 or under can access free of charge.
