Over 26 acres of woods for you to choose where and how you would like to set up camp. There is only one reservation allowed at a time, so the entire property is yours to enjoy. There is an established campsite at the back of the property that is a 0.18 mile walk from the end of the driveway. Or you can set up camp anywhere you’d like! This property sits off of a very quiet back round with limited traffic. This property connects to over four thousand acres of State Land that can be explored as you please. Fourteen miles of hiking trails offer magnificent views of the mountains and scenic Mountain Lake. The UACNJ Observatory at Jenny Jump is a short drive, or a nice hike, from the property where free lectures and observing are open to the public every Saturday evening from April through October. The famous Shades of Death Road and Ghost Lake are also a short drive from the campsite.

The River's Edge campsites sit on the shoreline of the Delaware River at the western edge of New York State overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night. Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October (say 'hi' to Jim). In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be. The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. These accommodations are great for guests who want more amenities but still with easy access to river. Pair campsites and cabins so that all your guests have their best experience. We will be decorated for Halloween. We are currently working a scary trail. Pitch your tent along Irish Creek under a canopy of Maples at Mystic Hollow. Irish Creek stream is a tributary to the Schuylkill River. The land is mostly flat for walking to camping area. There is also a small bridge that goes over a small strip of wetlands. Fire rings are included. I can haul your gear to your spot with tractor and wagon if needed. There is a port-a-potty close by. If you have your own portapotty, you must take the waste with you. We have no way to dispose of human waste. Absolutely no disposing of human waste on the property or in the trash. There will be a fine. We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if we are not at full capacity. Just let us know ahead of time. We allow dogs. They must be on leashes unless they are friendly and play well with others. You must clean up your dog's poop! No exceptions! We are 5 minutes from the Schuylkill River. 10 minutes from Ontelaunee Lake. 15 minutes from Blue Marsh. 15 minutes from the Appalacian Trail. Trail heads nearby Port Clinton, Hamburg, Bernville, Bethel, Blue Rocks, Kempton... 20 minutes from Hawk Mountain. We are an hour from Jim Thorpe. There are several wineries in the area including Long Trout Winery where wine is cool and hippy chicks rule! My favorite! Lots of wildlife. Expect to hear owls, blue heron, cows, goats, chickens, hawks, eagles, dogs, racoons and coyotes. Racoons will steal food that is not put away or in coolers. Deer may walk past in the middle of the night. Hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, mountain biking, bike trails, etc... all nearby. Sadly there are no fish in Irish Creek worth catching. The Crayfish are! As with any land situated along a water source, there is always a possibility of flooding. We flood maybe once a year, once every other year. If that should happen, we will assist in hauling gear. There is higher ground for tents to be set up if need be. There will also be rooms available to rent in the near future. Would definitely come again! The site was beautiful. The fire pit, benches, and lights in the tree were so cozy and peaceful. We saw the second site and was amazed! Weekend Trip to Hippie Havens: A Groovy Retreat

I would recommend this place to all my friends! The cabin itself was perfect for a weekend getaway having all the essentials needed and some nice extras like the hot tub and sauna. The area was incredibly beautiful and close to a cute little town. Despite some travel issues, we were met with kindness and flexibility, which show how amazing they were at hosting! We also got some very good local recommendations :) we’ll definitely be back!

I had a great night camping at Mel's! She was so thoughtful and nice to talk to, helped me get set up for the night, and showed me around the property so I felt very safe and had a relaxing evening and night. It was lovely meeting Bear the dog and the cats on the property as well, such sweethearts. The campsite was a good size, was decorated for the upcoming holiday, and had plenty of privacy from the road. Beautiful clear starry skies. I'm glad I stayed at Mel's along my trip!

Weekend Trip to Shambala at Mystic Hollow

My mom and I had a blast with our rustic weekend camping trip at the end of October, one last weekend before it got too cold! This is classic rustic camping, less amenities = beautiful nature , in a beautiful meadow with a stream going around it! Mel, the hostess got us plenty of wood when we asked and checked in with us each night! She helped haul all our stuff to our site, so that part wasnt to bad. Just what I needed peace and quiet in nature! Thanks Mel!

Beautiful land and property! Had a great time, the water was amazing! Thomas was prompt with any issues and getting everything we needed! Had to leave unexpectedly because of unforseen circumstances, but while we were there it was awesome! Thank you Thomas!

They added a viewing deck to relax by the river, and as always the hosts are absolutely wonderful and I will be going back, because its an amazing, amazing site and people. I will be recommending it to anyone I know

Weekend Trip to Jenny Jump Mountain

The upper site is beautiful. Plenty of secluded space with good hammock trees around a good, established fire pit. There's a little loop trail a little uphill from the site for an easy ~ 1/2 mile hike. We were pretty careful with food and trash cleanup, and had no critter visitors. Pleasant! That upper site is fairly easy access with enough clearance. Most SUVs could drive up just fine, right up to the site, but probably not most cars. It's only about a 5 minute walk up from easy parking though, if needed. I'll say the drive was a little overgrown and could use a trim so as not to scratch the paint, so if I came back I'd want to bring a hedge trimmer. There is a lower site too but we didn't spend time there, and it didn't look nearly as inviting.

We such a groovy time at Hippies Haven. The hosts thought of every detail to make our stay special. Loved the hot tub and listening to records while sitting by the fire. The heater keep the room nice and toasty. View is spectacular and it was so sweet to wake up to a deer family grazing in the yard.

Weekend Trip to The Dam House At Beaver Pond

We booked Brendan’s camp last minute without reading much, so our expectations were modest... but wow, it turned out to be the best campsite we’ve ever been to. The tent has a real bed with sheets and pillows, and we brought our own blankets which made it perfect. They even left us water, and there’s an outdoor shower, a toilet, and a trunk at the end of the bed filled with cooking essentials and other thoughtful items. It’s ideal for anyone who wants a quick escape without the hassle of packing tents and gear... more of a glamping experience than rough camping. The ponds are huge and beautiful; you can make a fire right by the water and enjoy the sunset surrounded by deer and little woodland animals. It’s incredibly peaceful, perfect for families or a romantic weekend with minimal effort. The camp is tucked behind the main house, so you feel completely secluded. It’s only a short 5-minute walk to the car, and Brendan can even give you a ride in a buggy if you’re carrying a lot! though honestly, you won’t need much. My husband and I are used to more rugged camping, and this was such a refreshing change. Everything feels thoughtfully put together with care and love. Brendan was super accommodating with our late check-in, and the firewood bundle lasted us the whole weekend! We’re already dreaming of coming back in the summer for a longer stay. Absolutely the best site on Hipcamp, by far.
