Home Afarm

Our little hobby farm was procured in December 2021. While we're just getting started our new home, we hope you'll enjoy sharing the orchard, meadows, forest, and swimming pond with us. "Roads go ever ever on, under cloud and under star. Yet feet that wandering have gone turn at last to home afar." Learn more about this land: Come relax atop the Appalachian foothills of southern Ohio. Enveloped in the heart of Tranquility Wilderness Area, our 11 acres has a mix of native pawpaw, peach, pear, and persimmon trees, deciduous forest, cedar woods, wild meadows, a small swimming pond, and a large, accessible field for ample flat for tents and room to play. Trails through the woods are being worked on, and facilities expanded as the seasons pass. Mellow nature’s soundtrack of birds, crickets, and frogs and enjoy an incredibly clear view of the night sky. Hiking, kayaking, biking, birding, fishing, hunting, swimming, and more are available at several state parks and historical sites like within 10-30 minutes of the farm. Amish country is likewise near at hand with several bakeries, markets, furniture shops, and greenhouses. Our primitive sites are spaced for privacy, with a gravel parking area near the cottage and additional field parking is available near the road on the opposite site of the main house. While most sites are walk-in only, the upper field sites may be able to be parked near and the Lower Meadow, Boneyard, and Oak Grove may be able to be driven to, as weather and site conditions permit.

Scenic Hills - Amish Country

5 sites · RVs2 acres · Oak Hill, OH
Property is located about 2 miles from the small town of Oak Hill. The area has a Welsh heritage and offers a Welsh museum. Once a prominent brick manufacturing area. Today the area is home to a decent size Old Order Amish community. You will see horses and buggies daily and there are several Amish businesses open to the public including a huge greenhouse, a hardware and bait & tackle store and a bulk food store to name a few. Our area is also a popular stop for hunters of all types since we are close to Wayne National Forest and Cooper Hollow Wildlife area. We need to mention that pets are welcome but need to be on leash or contained at all times due to horses and other animals that are nearby. There is also 4 dogs who live on the property and are always on patrol :) They keep the monsters away but are welcoming to our guests! We look forward to seeing you soon! Learn more about this land: Small family owned camping area (4 spaces) located in southern Ohio in the heart of an Old Order Amish community. Lake Farm

4 sites · RVs, Tents44 acres · Bethel, OH
The Lake Farm is 44 acres bordered by farmed land and woods.  This farm has been in our family for over 50 years.  Although there is no residence on the property, this farm is filled with family memories.  For generations, family and friends have gathered at the farm to camp; share meals; fish or float on the lakes; play with our dogs; and enjoy the seasons in a secluded outdoor setting.  We have hosted family gatherings for all occasions and seasons including an incredible Winter Camp a few years back with historical tents and recipes.  As our children have grown older, the farm now provides a secluded space for solitude; fishing or floating in the lakes; cooking together; sitting around a table and visiting; reading a book; or taking a nap.  The two lakes on the farm host much wildlife - morning time is often filled with deer stopping by for a drink or a run across the fields and geese families teaching their children - the regiment of landing on lakes or making abrupt turns while floating on lakes.  Sometimes if you watch closely - a beaver can be spotted as he/she is slowly moving a tree branch across the lake or a turtle sunning on a tree stump.  The East Fork Horse and Hiking Trail borders our farm and makes the perfect morning walk.  This farm has been our refuge and blessing for many years.  We have developed 4 camping sites and an additional site -  in case our own family needs what we call farm therapy spot whether it be overnight or simply for an afternoon.  The Lake Farm neighbors East Fork Lake State Park and allows quick access for kayaks and canoes as well a horse and hiking trail.  Additionally, Lake Farm is 30 minutes drive from the Ohio River - where you can access the river at different points.  Please feel free to ask for recommendations on good food and local interest.
