This was a property with a house that was beyond repair.  We tore it down to help fix it up.  Since we had utilities we turned it into campsites.  The property is 5 semi wooded acres with a creek that runs through the middle.  Out in the country.  Minutes from the real Amish and 30 min from Berlin, Ohio the home of the commercialized Amish community.  10 min from Mohican area.Learn more about this land:This location is ideal for working crews with 4 campers or less.  Full hookup available for all sites.  A small garage is available for short term storage, for an additional fee.   The sites have 50 amp hookup with water and electricity buried underground.  1 site does not have water buried.

Six Buckets Farm

We represent the 4th & 5th generations of our family to grow food on this homestead in the Tuscarawas River valley.  Originally founded as the Paulus Turkey Farm in the late 1940s,  the land had been rented to neighboring farmers for decades.  We returned to the farm in 2015 to cultivate the best traditions of Appalachian food and agriculture. We raise heritage breed hogs on pasture and in the woods. We are minutes from Amish country and happy to share the area and our property (and our gorgeous sunrises) with you. As Ralph Waite said in the 1980 made-for-TV movie "Ohms" (filmed in T-County): "If this isn't God's Country, God has no taste."Learn more about this land:Ever dreamed of waking up next to a sounder of snoring swine? Well, maybe you aren't setting the bar high enough in your leisure life. This majestic property is home to white-tailed deer, gray squirrels, red fox, several species of woodpecker are heard throughout the day and owls at night. Red-tailed hawks roost in the treetops when they are not soaring over the trees.  It's just a 1 mile hike to some of the amazing Akron Metroparks Sand Run and Naturealm facilities. Learn more about this land:The camp area sits in a mature hardwood forest surrounded by ravines.  Access from street after a short hike.  A short walk from indoor bathroom, water and electric.  You have access to all the other Sandrun trails after you walk down a steep ravine from camp.

The property spans 60 acres with lush woods, a meandering creek, valleys and rock formations. The top of the ridge lends awesome sunset views overlooking the valley. You can rent a cabin on the property, or rent a permanent Safari Tent that overlooks the creek. You can also rent our luxury 16' canvas bell tents that be set up in addition to renting the cabin to allow for more guests.

The property is shared by one cabin rental, one permanent Safari Tent and the owners also live onsite should you need anything , but give you complete privacy. Certain areas of the property are not accessible to explore when there are renting cabin or tent guests in those areas.

Hallstead Cabin & Camping

This small farm is 7 acres of the original 25 my great grandmother purchased for her family in 1934. The house dates back to the 1850s and is a post and beam structure. Guests can enjoy the barn, which has been converted to a rec area. Make our home and green space yours for a few days.

Camp in comfort in our "little cabin in the woods." Accommodates up to six guests, with a queen-sized bed, a futon and two single rope-beds with foam mattresses in the loft, accessible only by ladder. Kids six and older may sleep in the loft-- just like Laura and Mary-- and they can read a chapter of one of Laura Ingalls' "Little House" books before bed! 

The Camp Cabin contains a small refrigerator, microwave and gas fireplace (no, the pioneers didn’t have that!). Fresh eggs and other snacks are provided for breakfast. The restroom and shower are located in the walkout basement of the farmhouse, a 40 yard walk from the Cabin. The restroom has a private entrance and is used only by guests during their stay.

Pet and feed goats and other farm animals. Enjoy fun activities on the farm and in the barn.

Campers have a variety of books and games to choose from-- for cold or rainy days.
