It is a short 12 miles to Ithaca for provisions and activities, or stay and play on the land, hike, swing, rest, read, write, meditate, dream. come in peace or come to rediscover your peace. I look forward to meeting you Learn more about this land: We have 10 forested hilly acres 12 miles from Ithaca. We’ve built a camp with a yurt with a foam floor that sleeps a family of 4. Bring sleeping bags and pads or you have an air mattress you can blow up inside the yurt that is fun. in the photo s you will also see a dry lean-to with a double bed platform inside to put your sleeping bags or air mattress or to put supplies off the ground to keep dry. Also lots of room for tents. The campfire has a grill to cook over a wood fire, 2 benches & Adirondack chairs, a hammock and a picnic table. There’s also a fun homemade swing & seesaw. There are many marked walking trails around our land to enjoy. There is access to well water. Dry cut Firewood is available for $7 a bundle at the property or you can add extras with booking for $7.70 per bundle.  Portable toilet outside & outdoor hot water shower. It is very quiet here. We are close to Treman, Buttermilk And Taughannock State Parks which all have swimming. Watkins Glen State Park and racetrack is half an hour away. 150 breathtakingly magnificent waterfalls in this area. Great hiking. We are 14 miles from Cornell University and 10 miles from Ithaca College. We are between two finger lakes, Cayuga and Seneca, there are 60 wineries and breweries around the lakes. Woman’s Rights National Museum in Seneca Falls, Corning Museum of Glass is fabulous. Ithaca has theatres, many museums & lots for kids to do. My husband purchased this land to build his house on before we got together. After he purchased the land, he spent the next year building the perfect house on top of the hill at the end of our long driveway. We have a beautiful view from our front porch. My favorite place to have coffee! Frequent visitors to the property include turkey, deer, and even bear once in a while that visit. We have discovered from my Grandmother that this same property happens to be the same property that my Great, Great Grandparents used to farm and cut firewood on. The property is located in the quiet hills in New York's Finger Lakes Region. Just 20 minutes from Keuka Lake and 25 to all the shopping and dining experiences that you could ever want in downtown Corning along with hundreds of NYS breweries and wineries to enjoy during the day. Return to the hill for a quiet campfire in the evening. Their are several nearby rivers and lakes to canoe or kayak, hiking trails all over the region and even in our own backyard! We hope to see you soon!   Sites #1, #2 & #3 can easily accommodate any type of camper (tent, trailer, van, RV, motor home, etc.)  These sites could be booked for more than just 2 campers. However it is close to our house so if you want more privacy we recommend staying at one of the other sites.  But their is plenty of room here for a larger group.  Site #5 is secluded by itself on the far side of the field on the right hand side of our driveway. The best way to get to it is to take the road to the end of the field. You will find an vehicle accessible path next to the tree line.    Site #6 is the first spot you will find off the driveway it is before the play area and tucked in the trees #6 offers more shade but would be better for a tent. New this year! Windy Ridge Cabin. The cabin can sleep up to 6. Spacious and clean. The cabin sits on the edge of the woods and overlooks the valley to the left.

Great stay no one bothered us the site was clean and prepped for us when we arrived and there was extra toilet supplies in the pop up potty tent. There is another tent site maybe 50 ft away. It poured the second night and everything stayed dry within the tent. We didn’t get any super amazing views from the lick brook falls trail and the lake Treman loop but it’s been very dry so the falls/lake were very low

I was in camper site 1 but I was in a tent. It was a nice spot, however, be aware that you are right next to a trail that goes through a nature preserve. I had people occasionally walking by which was not an issue for me.

New yurt instead of teepee totally dry with a skylight so you don't have to bring a tent if you don't want to, just the bedding.

Weekend Trip to Orchard and Gorge At South Hill
Camping at the cider orchard was a relaxing experience. The bed and raised platform canvas tent offered some comforts of home, but otherwise the site was a typical campsite with a fire pit, picnic table, and chemical toilet. You can see the other site from here if you’re curious. The price was a bit more than other hip camp sites we’ve stayed at for the amenities offered, but the location is convenient near Ithaca which made it worth the price for the weekend. The light that shines through the canvas tent was quite nice, diffused by the white cloth, pretty views of the field from the front door, and it felt safe at night. The nature preserve is literally steps from the site with beautiful trails, which adds to the value of the site, and there were a few finger lakes trail hikers passing by.

We loved this campsite! Everything was set up when we arrived, and it was easy to find with Steve’s instructions. Loved waking up to beautiful birds (hello American Kestrel!) and some sweet sheep friends. Having the FLX trail right outside of the site was perfect- did a great 8 mile loop through Buttermilk falls state park. The cider at South Hill was delicious- being able to walk right down was another bonus. All in all a great stay and we’ll likely return.

Dreamy but simple tent setup on the grounds of a lovely cidery. You've got privacy right next to the nature preserve that saddles up to the cidery but can drive 15 minutes into town as well or just walk over to the cidery for lunch and firewood (on sale at the cidery). Be prepared to relocate some (non-poisonous) spider friends from your tent. Experience could be improved by the addition of some simple hooks in the tent but other than that, a nice vibe.

This was a great camping experience. The property is beautiful, quiet, and a short walk away from the cider house. I was fortunate to be there when they had live music. I hiked the trails with my pup and planned to drive into Ithaca, but I was content just to hang out at the property. Highly recommend!

We had a great time at Orchard and Gorge at South Hill! The tent was amazing, mattress was very comfy. It felt like the perfect mix between camping and glamping. Great place to see the stars if you walk out of the trees and into the field right out front of the tent. The cidery next door has very friendly people if you need fire wood or water etc. there was live music one night and the sounds carried over very nicely to our campsite! I hope to be back one day

We love the forest spot at Jacqueline's. She and Rob are always relaxed, fun, and friendly, and we love the opportunity to commune a little with the horses and donkeys. :) The woods feel secluded and are beautiful. In 4 visits at slightly varying times I'd say the most mosquitoes were in the our June visit, whereas our Labor day visit was basically none, since things dry up through the season. We are so grateful to come to this place and will return at any opportunity!!!

This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. My nearest neighbors are a half mile away. Get a 360 degree view from the lookout tower. Plenty of room for your dogs to run. All 3 sites have elect extention cords strung to them providing 15 amp 115v electric Wood fire pits at each site with wood available for purchase. All sites have string lights and picnic tables. There is sold ground for a small size camper or any size tent. The lookout tower us for all to use. I am 25 minutes from Wellsboro PA and the Pa Grand Canyon with a 62 mile rail trail, bike and kayak rentals are 40 minutes away, one hour to Finger lakes, locally there is lots of hiking, fishing and exploring. 4 wheel drive maybe needed in winter for my driveway.

This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. My husband purchased this land to build his house on before we got together. After he purchased the land, he spent the next year building the perfect house on top of the hill at the end of our long driveway. We have a beautiful view from our front porch. Just 20 minutes from Keuka Lake and 25 to all the shopping and dining experiences that you could ever want in downtown Corning along with hundreds of NYS breweries and wineries to enjoy during the day. Return to the hill for a quiet campfire in the evening. Their are several nearby rivers and lakes to canoe or kayak, hiking trails all over the region and even in our own backyard! We hope to see you soon!   Sites #1, #2 & #3 can easily accommodate any type of camper (tent, trailer, van, RV, motor home, etc.)  These sites could be booked for more than just 2 campers. Please contact me if you have a larger group.  Site #4 offers the best view! However it is close to our house so if you want more privacy we recommend staying at one of the other sites.  But their is plenty of room here for a larger group.  Site #5 is secluded by itself on the far side of the field on the right hand side of our driveway. The best way to get to it is to take the road to the end of the field. You will find an vehicle accessible path next to the tree line.    Site #6 is the first spot you will find off the driveway it is before the play area and tucked in the trees #6 offers more shade but would be better for a tent. Woman’s Rights National Museum in Seneca Falls, Corning Museum of Glass is fabulous. Ithaca has theatres, many museums & lots for kids to do. Sandbar Farm was purchased as our home and as a place for both sharing our love and knowledge of horses with others and providing a place for animals to re-group and sometimes recover in order to find their perfect human. We have accomplished this goal for many and some, like Nameless the Mustang, have found a permanent safe place here. Over the years, we have found that our human friends and relatives also find the farm to be fun, and a popular place to relax and re-group from everyday life. We hope that you will feel the same way after a visit. Learn more about this land: Beautiful camping spots among the pine trees. Wake up to deer and horses crossing the fields behind you, birds chirping and the fresh air smell of the great outdoors. We have our own fields and wood for hiking, quiet dirt roads for walking or biking with horses often available for trail rides at an extra fee. We are also: 5 minutes from Stony Brook Park with its natural stone spring fed swimming pool and miles of hiking trails along the streams; 35 minutes from Letchworth Park, the Grand Canyon of the East with its amazing waterfalls. Whether it's a big event or the Arkport Summerfest, there's always something fun to do, besides just relaxing. We also offer limited stabling for outside horses so you can enjoy the trails at more than 5 different parks. A short scenic drive to many attractions, such as Stony Brook State Park, Letchworth State Park, Harriet Hollister State Park, Finger Lakes Trail, hiking-biking, Swain and Bristol Ski Resorts, Hazlitt Winery, wineries, breweries and great local dining and shopping and only minutes from Loon Lake. Rochester is an hour drive away, using I-390 for the majority of the drive. We also have accommodations for horses for an extra daily fee.
