Not suitable for parties or loud groups. For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty. It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka. Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinarily beautiful spots on earth that make you feel like you are in another world. It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below. The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls. Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and keep noise down after 10pm to enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside At the entrance to the campsites there is a barn community room with a charging station, cold water sink, fridge, coffee maker, cookware, and a port-a-potty. There are 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water. This is a leave no trace site. Take all your trash with you when you leave. Bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty! Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log. The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms stands with fresh produce and organic meat close by. Within a 5 miles radius is a general store, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, Rooted Movement, the Sap Bush Country Store and Café, and Mustang Valley (a wild mustang sanctuary). Nearby hikes include Looking Glass Pond and Vroman's Nose, and others.

There is a public hiking trail that goes through the property. It goes from the Fairview ave. boat launch in Wilmington, all the way up to West Dover. You can access this at the back of the site. The sites are only a minutes drive from downtown Wilmington, or you can hike/bike there on the trail (approx 15 min). In Wilmington there is plenty of shopping, gifts, coffee, restaurants, gas, liquor store. I also have dry, split firewood available for $10 on site. Please don't bring your own unless it is prepackaged from shaws or bought from one of the local sellers right around me. Transportation of out of state firewood can bring invasive beetles to our forests...

Named during the pandemic, "Camp COVID Site 19" was born out of our desire to camp, as we weren't able to go camping anywhere! This camp is the back half of our property, located in the village of Tannersville. Camp is divided from our personal yard by a fence. The camp is also completely fenced in once the driveway gates are closed, allowing your pets to safely be off leash if you wish! A long stone driveway leads to camp, with a flat spot to park your skoolie, motorhome, or vehicle. There is a creek running along the entire back side of our property, outside of the fenced in area, which you can access by walking a few feet though the gates under the Camp COVID sign. We have a new bon fire pit in the center of camp, and fires are allowed as long as there is no burn ban in effect. Firewood is on site, and can be added on for $10 per night. We have 2 water hook ups and one 15 amp electric hook up on site, we just ask that you do not run an A/C unit as it will trip our main breaker. There is a dump station at North South Lake State Park and Campground only minutes away in Haines Falls. Instructions and rules are posted in the bath house which has an on demand hot water shower and a composting toilet. There is a garbage can for your convienece which is located in the shed which must be kept closed to avoid black bears visiting! There is a covered dried in area to the left of the shed. We have a half barrel charcoal grill with a flat top griddle as well as several grill grates. One of the grill grates also fits over the fire pit if you prefer fire cooking! A true wilderness experience. Base camp is an old Catskill farmhouse built late 19th century but first deeded 1820. Sits at the base of Evergreen Mountain bordered on three sides by tumbling water: West Kill Creek, Herdman Brook, and Haring Brook. Operated as a hunting and fishing lodge for decades - rainbow, brown, heron, kingfishers, eagles, larks , deer, bear, mink, beaver, bobcat - all there, right out the door, literally. You don't know what's going to come through your camp. The actual camp site itself is the ultimate in social distancing. As close to pure wilderness as it gets. No vehicles allowed at site. From an easily accessible parking space, it's a mildly uphill ten minute hike through magical meadows deep into a hidden mountain valley in the midst of 250,000 acres. Utter privacy. The only sounds being the wind, the birds, yourself, and Herdman Brook rushing along a few yards east of your site. Once again no vehicles are allowed at the campsite itself. At one time, yes, but we needed to disallow it because the property was being torn up, and the beauty of the site is that it's so pristine. This is not glamping. No cabin. No platform. Need tent, tarp, or hammock, and you will sleep under more stars than you can possibly imagine. Fire ring, cooking grate, water bucket This is true wilderness camping. You're off the grid at site - no cell service - but wifi available if necessary on front porch of main house aka base camp. 10 a.m. check in. 3 p.m. checkout. Please send ETA when possible. Campers ought to be aware that black bears live in these mountains., although you're not likely to see one unless it's running away from you. If you're really nervous bring bear spray, but you're not likely to need it. I literally chased one off our porch not a month ago. I would appreciate your purchasing human waste bags from me at base camp when you arrive. I'll have them here for $3.00/bag. Feel free to buy your own. You should also bring FIRE STARTER to make your life easier. We sell firewood as well - 7 logs/$10. As with the waste bags, we would appreciate buying the firewood directly from us. Wonderful hikes - one to a waterfall - trail head at end of Spruceton Rd. Hunter Brook, Devil's Notch, Fire Tower atop Hunter Mountain, Ridge of West Kill Mountain West Kill Brewery and Spruceton Inn Bed and Bar each half mile up the road. Civilized respites. 4 campers preferred. 6 possible. One more thing: DOGS. We have two: a 13 year old female whatever and a shepherd-husky mix, 4 years old, also female. They are quite friendly and docile, although the shepherd looks intimidating, and both roam the property at will 2-3 times/day. We would prefer you not bring your dog, however, if you must, please be certain it is well behaved 4.5 miles up County Rte 6 to 1833 Spruceton Rd., NY 12492 Old white farmhouse. On left. Fantastic communication! The road into this site was fantastic! The site was as advertised. Noah and his mother Steffanie run a beautiful grateful Dead themed property! We stayed in sight one I had a picnic table and a fire pit Wood was close by and reasonably priced at five dollars!

Absolutely wonderful place! The views of both sunrise and sunset are breathtaking, the location is perfect, and the property is very well maintained. Our host, Stephanie, was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Grateful Acres is just 25 minutes from great restaurants and coffee shops, and only 5 minutes from the stunning Somerset Reservoir and nearby hiking trails. We loved our stay and would love to come back!

We had a great stay at Triple Creek! The view from the campsite is stunning and so peaceful and quiet. Stephen was communicative and very sweet when we arrived, and then gave us full privacy after check-in. Like other campers have mentioned, there is a considerable uphill walk to the campsite …a cart is a must, but it’s still quite a workout getting a cart up and your gear up there. We were there late October and the ticks were bad (mostly on the walk up/down)- we planned for it with long pants, boots, tick spray etc and were fine though. There’s a great brewery about a mile down the road and tons of really cool hiking very close to the campsite - we recommend hiking the West Kill Summit along Devil’s Path. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this site to other (prepared) campers!

Christian was an excellent host, and we really enjoyed staying on the farm! The horses were beautiful. Only a few mins walk to drinking water and porta potty. We car camped and the camp site was the perfect size for it.

Only stayed for a quick night in our way up to Maine. But it was easy to find and a cute location! Cabin gets chilly (no insulation) but manageable with a good sleeping bag. Loved playing with the farm dogs, and the eggs were delicious!

Did one night tent camping while passing through the area on the rainiest night haha. I didn’t meet anyone on site but Stephanie was super fast replying via messages! Tent site was level and clean with a lot of space, there was a fire grate and picnic table and the pit toilet was seriously the nicest pit toilet I’ve used (only pit toilet I’ve ever called aesthetically pleasing!). You do need to drive a 7-mile dirt road to reach the property, it was fine for my Prius (just some very minor washboarding in a few places) but if you also have a city car you’ll definitely be driving a bit slower than Google Map‘s estimate.

We stayed at the Peaceful Pondside Retreat in our truck camper with our girls, a Golden Retriever and a German Shephard. The site was private and the walking trails right out our backyard was great. We loved cooking in our dutch oven over the campfire. It was a great weekend. Thank you Gus. BTW We had lunch at The Anchor and it was great.

What a great trip! The cabin was wonderful with the wood stove and such a great history there. The property was VERY secluded and quiet, a great pond for the dog to jump in, horses right in the meadow, and great trails right off rhe edge of the yard. A+ trip and hosts, well def be back!
